Hi my son has had on and of fever for a night and a day. His temp has now dropped and has reached 35.1 it is very hot here and I have put pants and a blanket on him. how low and for how long is it safe to leave himbefore I should take him to ER? I don't wanna drag him out for no reason.

35.1 degree's celcius is a low temp

how often are you taking his temperature?

maybe ring the hosp and see what they say, cause it is a very low temp

still the same. should I just rug him up and see? When does low become dangerous? hes sleeping so I dunno.

yeah just ring up the hosp and have a chat to one of the nurses there,

or you could ring a health line if you guys have one in your state

has the temp gone up at all?

It went up to 35.3 then dropped to 35.1 again.
I rang they said just set an alarm for an hour and if it drops bellow 35 see if he wakes easily and isn in a body shut down sleep.

sure no worries Im sure Ill sleep like a baby in that time.

hope everything is alright. I did a bit of googling and it seems that temp needs to drop below 35 for it to really indicate a problem, unless it is a newborn or an older baby who is listless (weak, passing out etc.) Also, it depends on what your own bubs normal temp is. Some babies have a "normal" temp of 35.4.

Just keep an eye on bub. If you are taking the temp under the arm, apparently you are supposed to add a degree. It's why I went out and bought an ear thermometer.

Does bub actually feel cold on the forehead?
