My DS is 8 months and we have started CC last night- I guess I just need to vent and feel that what I'm doing is not harming him. He is so adorable but has been waking up for the last 2 weeks an hour after bed and then again any time between 3 and 4 am when i would breast feed and he'd go back to bed til 6 or 7.
So, last night I put him to bed at 7 and started the 2,4,6,8,10minutes etc. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes of me patting and comforting and him crying himself hoarse before he finally went to sleep and then slept til 6.00AM! Tonight same thing but took 1 houe 10 so any improvement is something to cheer about- Friends who wnet through a similar situation tell me the first 3 nights are the worst- so here's hoping for a good night tonight- it's so exhausting to hear my bub cry and a bit shocking as he's my second and the first DS was an angel compared to number 2. Some dark days in the early months but we're getting there...:fingerscrossed:

don't give up, you know it only took my dd 2 days until she was happily put to bed, and sleeps well.
i wanted to give up but glad i didn't.
busy yourself during th eday, talk on the phone(not a cordless so then you are stuck to it), or get a friend to come and support you before you crumble.

The update- I can't get anything consistent happeing in the day so i feel like that's on the backburner, but for the 7 nights, it's been slowly getting better but i've given in and given him his dummy in the process but that does'nt seem to wake him- we've got it down to 10-20 minutes of crying ( i'd like none but what can done so far, he's slept through til between 5 and 6. He's woken a couple of times earlier but i haven't had to BF him which has been one my goals as I have to go back to work after xmas so that's something- it's ridiculous the pressure you put on yourself to get this 'right' all the time, but at the end of the day we have to do what works for our fam...
