Does anyone in Perth know what time you have to be at the Ocean Keys shopping centre to enter your baby in the Little Aussie Appealathon competition? Anyone else entered in this comp at another shopping centre? How does it work?
Thanks :)
Jo
It should be on the Rocky Bay website (http://www.rockybay.org.au/pr/events-aussie.cfm)
The entry is $10 and they usually kick off around 10am but might pay to give a call and check. There is a contact on the web page.
Once you have done the initial little aussie, you can go thorugh to other rounds but I believe you have to sell a book of raffle tickets to qualify for the next stage?
It's all good fun and raises money for Rocky Bay though!

Ah, great. Thankyou! I spent ages trying to google something like that, and there it was :)
I'm going to print out an Entry Form for myself and the other mums in my mother's group right now!
Thanks again,
Jo

How did you guys go in this comp? My bubba was a finalist for Smiler.
Did anyone else get through to the next round? I thought that there was a lot of finalists! It was a lot of fun!

Yeah, we got "smiler" and "bright eyes".
There were definitely a lot of finalists... methinks it's a good way of getting those raffle tickets sold!
How is everyone going with those, BTW?
Jo
Layla got "Bright Eyes" but she had just woken up and was grumpy so I was surprised she got anything at all!!
I sold my booklet ages ago, but not sure how they know who sent which booklet. Hmmm....
Got the finals on May 9 at Belmont. Yay!
Yeah, Jade got Bright eyes, and so did every other baby. Some got Smiler and a couple got crowning glory or some such.
Then they smack you with the raffle books and suddenly I realised why everyone was a 'finalist'... of course the more they sell, the more money they raise, so why would they knock anyone back? Seriously, the whole thing smacked of scam to me.
I have no problem paying the $10 entry fee, I even have no problem selling raffle tickets to raise money for them, but geeze, don't wrap it in a bow and call it a 'competition', it's clearly a fund raising exercise.
We won't be going to the 'finals'. I have sold a couple fo tickets, but I'm not going to go to any extra effort to sell them all...
I'll give them one thing though, they have a hell of a marketing dept.

Haha!
I thought the same thing! I'm only in it for a bit of fun. The proud grandparents went ahead & sold all of the raffle tickets for us, so I didn't even have to do anything.
We are going to the finals, but I don't care if Ava wins or not. It is really just a good excuse to go to the Galleria! My nephew is also in the comp so we are going to see how he goes too.

Perfect! lol Hope you get to spend lots of money!
Good luck Ava and Ava's cousin!
