Hi Guys,
Which tests did you use? Which are the most accurate, and how many days after ovulation can you use them? :)
Thanks for your help!!!

Hi
I just used a kit from my local chemist but you can buy them in the grocery store now. I used the urine test kits and this worked well. You can fall pregnant around 14 days after ovulation so do you want to know how soon after fertilisation/sex can you check? When fertilisation occurs your body hormones change and this is what the test shows so I have heard that they can work as soon as 48 hours after fertilisation. Not sure if they are all that sensitive though but there should be info on the packet.
Good luck!
Hi
I was a big fan of the "fortel" tests you can buy in the supermarket - 2 tests in a pack for about $12, so definitely the cheapest on the market. As for accuracy - I used one 13 days after ovulation and it picked up a pregnancy that my doctor's test couldn't pick up at 15 days after ovulation (we then had a blood test to confirm it).
I did a bit of research on this and found that any of the tests that claim they can detect pregnancy between 7-10 days after ovulation are not very accurate as there are the chances that your HcG levels are not yet high enough as implantation may not have occurred yet. I always used tests that you can use up to 3 days before your period and made sure I tested as close to my period as possible.

Thanks for your help guys! I had a look last night at the supermarket.
I think I ovulated yesterday (had bad pains in my side) and we had sex lastnight, and will again tonight....Maybe we left it a little late? Its best to have sex the day before and the day off ovulation isnt it?
From memory having sex up to two days before or two days after ovulation can be effective - the sperm live for a couple of days and the egg lives for a couple of days. That is why doctors recommend having sex every second day (as a minimum) around the time you think you might be ovulating.
I had ovulation pain (pain in my side) the day after we had sex and all calculations showed that I had conceived the day before I had ovulation pain - so I have no idea what that all means, but wanted to reassure you that there is still a chance either way! And I distantly remember the days when we had sex two nights in a row........or had sex at all for that matter! Enjoy! :D
