....please forgive me if this has already been asked a million times - I did a quick search and had a look in your common complaints section.
I know it's quite common to have crampy lower abdominal pain during pregnancy, but I'm still a little nervous.
This afternoon at work I had a big stretch and got quite a sharp pain where I assume my left ovary is. It's been niggling on ever since. Feels a little like the throbbing you get before your period.
But since I read somewhere that one in two early pregnancies end in miscarriage, I guess I'm going to be paranoid about every little thing until the 12-week mark - and probably after that, too!
This is pretty normal, right? I'm in a VERY early stage - only about 4 / 5 weeks.
Thanks :)

IMHO - go to your GP or GYN - just to make sure - even if your think your paranoid..
I have not been pregnant, (TTC) so I have no idea what feels normal and what not...:ecomcity:
but I have had many cysts that troubled, and now when theres pain, I suck up my pride, and just go to the Doc....
its probebly nothing, but better to make sure!!
Good luck
Simone:hugs:

Its pretty normal to have pain similar to AF starting at the beginning of a pregnancy, yes :)
Its the ligaments that support the uterus stretching. Believe it or not, in 2 short weeks since ovulation and conception, your uterus has grown from the size of your clenched fist to the size of a grapefruit - that's a fair stretch! No wonder there's a little bit of pain.
Try not to stress - especially if there's not bleeding or anything - but if the pain gets worse, more concetrated, you begin bleeding, or you're just too stressed out about it - go see your GP :)

Thanks guys :)
No, there's been no bleeding and the pain is persistent but not severe. In fact I would call it more of a throb than actual pain.
I have worked out that I'm pretty much only in my fourth week, and I've read that cramping such as the kind you get when ovulating is just the embryo implanting itself in the uterus. Which is pretty exciting, actually!
I hope I'm not going to be one of those terrible people that stresses every five seconds and spends the rest of their time researching every possible pregnancy potentiality on the internet!! Oh, and excuse my denseness - but what does AF stand for? :p

Sorry to tell you, but you're likely to be 'one of those people' :p most pregnant women and mums are, afterall :p
AF stands for Auntie Flo (a crude term for your menstrual period...its just quicker to type AF than the other on a forum :p)
Hope that helps (HTH) :)

I got a similar thing at around the time when my next af would have been due. That dull af type ache. My doctor said that it sounded like implantation. Like Tam-I-Am said, the uterus is changing and stretching so much from now on, there will be a lot of niggly pains. I hate to tell you, you will be worrying about all sorts of things over the next 9 months. Every little pain or new sensation makes you worry. Thats where bubhub comes in! There are so many lovely people here that can offer advice and support.
I hope you have a lovely pregnancy:hugs:

Ah ha! Actually, I had to look up BFP as well!! Lol.
My partner and I have lots of euphemisms for AF. The one we like is `the Communists are in the summer house'. LOL!
The pain is gone this morning! Ok, on to the next worry... :p
