Allergist Appointment

In 1 hour I have my follow-up for my DS who was diagnosed with DA (dairy allergy), PA (peanut allergy) and EA (egg allergy) when hew was 1. Hoping one year on things may have changed - will let you know tomorrow.

EA completly gone. DA and PA have decreased significantly!!!!!!

We are jsut waiting on blood test results to show how much and it is very likely that we can start introducing dairy again. Will still need to avoid the creamier things like full cream milk and ice cream for a while but cheese and yoghurt should be fine. Also might no longer need epipen for PA. Very good news.

That is excellent news, hope that you can introduce dairy again. It is a great feeling of relief when they out grow an allergy isn't it :thumbsup:

Just wondering which specialist you see, as we have just moved to Perth and my DS is allergic to peanuts(has an epipen). We have been given a name by our Adelaide specialist but it is always good to hear which Drs other people use etc. Thanks.

How bad was the PA when your Son was first tested? When my daughter had the skin prick test, the lump that came out was quite large. I can't remember the measurements.

It was 1st recognised when he had a peanut butter sandwich - his lips blew up within 10sec of the first bite and followed by red weepy eyes. Luckily he didn't even swallow the mouthful and it took about 4 hours for the swelling to go.

On the skin prick test it flared up straightaway and was quite raised. On Tuesday it did still flare up only to about a mozie bite size.

Just remembered the blood test showed severity of 1.8 for PA and 8 for DA (appartently both are very high) so will be interested to see these results for the recent blood test.
