hi!
i need help! i dont kow what to do (((:crying: sob)))
i am trying to ween my 14mth old boy of the boob but this is how i get him to sleep.
i have started rocking him to sleep at afternoon sleep and to get him to sleep at night after a bottle of milk but i am having trouble getting him to sleep durring the night so i feed him.
it would be ideal to get him to sleep on his own but i hate the controlled crying method.
i have even tried getting him a sleeping pooh teddy and showing him how we put him to sleep and "well be right back when he wakes up" but now he knows when i bring that teddy out he protest cuz he knows i want to put him to sleep!

has anybody else had this problem?? i cant be the only one
how did they brake this habbit?
me and my partner are going away in 4weeks and his nanny is looking after him and i dont wont her to rock him to sleep.
i would like someones wisdom to help!
thanks huggs :hugs:

My DD#1 dropped her night feed at about 15 months.

She was given a choice - a bedtime story, or boob. She chose the book, and that was the end of the night time feed.

She continued to be breastfed though until after her 3rd birthday, but just not before bed. My motivation for trying to lose the night feed was to make sure she would not be dependant on it to be able to get to sleep.

Hi,

I would like to share what we did with our little one at 12 months (she's now 16.5months). We bought the information on www.saveoursleep.com and we haven't looked back. Without it, we just thought that life was just going to be that way until she was 10! Well, we gave ourselves two weeks to sought the problem and help Sophia learn how to sleep without ANY aids (previously milk + rocking or holding until she was asleep.....everything we should try not to do), and Sophia learnt how to go to sleep by herself and self settle when she woke up, all within a period of 2 weeks. She still does have a bottle at night (she doesn't necessarily finish it, depending on her stockpile of food in her tummy, she knows what she needs). In the transition time we were persistent with using the methods suggested (no CC at all, as we don't subscribe to that, and that's what we loved about the info on this www). My husband and I both took turns in putting her to sleep in the beginning, so that she wasn't use to me only, and now she can fall asleep with a teddy......So you have 4 weeks, try and make the most (as you are !!) of using the time, I know that everyone on BH will give you a million ideas, but time is of the esssence, and most of all having all the infor/advice/trials are so beneficial, as www sos doesn't leave anything to our imagination. Our biggest test was when we went on holidays recently. The destination was different, she was sleeping in a comfy porta cot, and low and behold she slept there, and right through the night, as she does at home.....so truly, we can't recommend it highly enough.
Regards
Maria
