my little one head butts things :banghead: and wacks himself in the head when he doesnt get his own way.
i try and stop him but he does it more an i dont wont to encorage.
any body know why they do this
OR had the same prob ??? i would like to hear from you.
what are you spose to do?
i dont want him to hurt himself
thanks for listening :)
Eloise does that too. She used to just do it on me or the couch - ie, soft things - but the other day she wacked her chin on the bedside table and almost bit through her bottom lip. She hasn't headbutted many things since.... :banghead:

my ds headbutts the wall, not hard, just stands with his back against the wall and bangs the back of his head - quite disturbing.
The other night he was in a crawling position at our glass sliding door and continually headbutted it even though I moved him away from it numerous times. He just kept going back and doing it and thought it was hilarious, until it got a bit tender.

Lucas is exactly the same!
Thankfully for us (and him), we replaced the bottom two rows of glass on our french doors to safety glass when he was a newborn.
If he doesn't get his way...BANG!...on the sliding door. We just ignore it and he's gradually starting to lose interest in it...the newest one is to get on the couch and bite the cushions...or if he doesn't like the way I'm leading him (when he's holding my hand) he'll try and bite me!....ahhhh my little Lukey....what a treasure!
my son head butted and bit too when he was smaller... it was always ignored even the biting which hurt like hell but he go no reaction and well then he got over it and stoped !

Yep bubs decided head butting was "cool" about a month or so ago
He gets up on all fours in his cot & rams his head against the ends !!!! Makes me feel ill listening to it :(
Then if he throws a tanty he starts head butting me if im holding him so either my head, face or sternum cops it ! *ouch* Otherwise its the closest object say the floor, lounge or his highchair.
Oh the joys LOL
But he seems to be at the stage where he is getting over it but has taken to screaming & slapping if he doesnt get his way .... Oh yes yet again the joys !

Im relieved to hear that some other people have that problem. My bubs does it too. I once heard that babies that lack attention do it but my baby definately is not lacking attention and I bet yours arnt either. He head butts anything he likes, I dont know whether to growl at him or not because its silly but he is controlling it. He also hits people when they say no and gets quite rough. Lets hope they grow out of this stage sooner rather than later! :fingerscrossed:
