Just wondering what, if anything, everyone's changed since they found out they were pregnant?

I've really improved my eating habits enormously. I'm a healthy weight but always snack too much on junk food. I'm eating heaps more fruit and veg and feeling better for it.

I've cut down my exercise regime - almost to nothing! I know I know, that's not good, the fatigue has set in now though so hard to get motivated, especially when I know I'll be getting fat soon anyway!

Everything else is much the same.

Fludo, i too am definately eating better since i got my BFP. I am eating breakfast lunch and dinner (with plenty in between)
I have completely stopped drinking coffee, tea and coke. Im not a smoker or a big alcohol drinker so that is easy. But when i was at Dr's today he told me i have to watch raw red meats, which means no medium rare steaks for me  DF thinks its funny that i have gone stone cold of everything else but chuck a tantrum that i cant eat a steak for 7 months. LOL

I have also pretty muched stopped exercise, i know thats bad but my life is normally go go go and i am trying to take it a bit easier.

WTF why cant we eat medium steak, i dont eat it any other way. I love it medium, its the only way it is cooked in my house.

I am eating much more healthier. If i can i have a salad at lunch instead of fries or something fatty and heavy.

We hadn't planned on getting pregnant till next year so that I could lose a bit of weight before hand but it didnt turn out that way so the main thing I will be doing is eating right and I still will excersise and hopefully wont put on any extra weight.

I've cut out caffine and am really missing my daily coffee. DS was really sensitive to caffine and I couldn't have any while BFing so I'm being careful this time round just in case.

I accidentally ate a rare beef salad the day after I found out I was preg, completely didn't think about it until I had finished, then worried about it for 24 hours.

I've also cut out down on exercise and am taking it really really easy at yoga and pilates, so easy that I spend about half of the time not doing the exercises.

(You can't eat choc mousse because it usually has raw egg in it. Supermarket ones don't always though so check the label, it might be ok.)

I've started eating healthier and have reduced my exercise to none atm :o I'm planning on going for a walk at night with DF after we get past the 12 weeks.

I'm upset about the steak thing too, I love my steak medium :(

Yep, it's the raw egg in chocolate moose that'sthe problem!

I had a medium steak the other day - looks like that will be my last for a while!

Sure! Meat has to be well-cooked because meat can contain bacteria (listeria) that can cause severe probs for bub including miscarriage. There's a whole list of foods you're supposed to avoid, like soft cheeses, deli meats (unless you heat them up really hot), leftovers more than a day old, stuff like that.

HTH :hugs:

The other reason why you shouldn't eat rare meat in pregnancy is because a parasite can survive in the pink undercooked meat and can infect the baby's brain causing defects. Usually this causes the baby to have no brain at all or only a brain stem. The disease is called toxoplasmosis.

The same microscopic parasite can be caught from cat faeces so if you have a cat be very careful about eating anything from your garden and also avoid emptying litter boxes etc.

I read that you shouldn't eat leftovers more than 12 hours old, and they can't be eaten cold.
Is that right? That means you can't eat yesterday's leftovers for dinner and I'll have to cook more!

Yep that's right. I told DH he's in charge of eating leftovers for the next 8 months!

If leftovers are more than 12hrs old...for example I made two dinners in one night. We ate one and then the next night I heated it up to piping hot and we ate that. Have I just ingested and done the wrong thing? As I thought heating up left over food until it is piping hot would be okay, if it was only eaten the next day.

Also, I struggle with lunch. I am a meat and salad girl. So I know deli foods are out, does anyone have any suggestions?
