Hi, I am after an easy lasagne recipe. I had a good one but threw it out. I want one that doesn't need ricotta cheese.

Thanks

thanks, I know how to make the sauce but wanted a good recipe to tell me the amounts. I suppose I could just keep making more white sauce if I needed to.

I had the best lasagna the other day that a friend of a friend made...

Make mince 500g + sauce to taste (cook it up, takes about 15mins)
Pita bread (instead of lasagna sheets)
NO CHEESE/WHITE SAUCE USED
layer as normal
top with grated cheese...
Cook until golden
I could not tell that she used bread instead of pasta and that there was no cheese/white sauce in it...it was as good as any lasagna I had ever tried...yum... and super quick and simple..:chef:

This is the way I make my lasagne. Hope it helps :)

Ingredients:
1kg beef mince
1 small onion, finely chopped
2-3 stalks celery, chopped
1 capsicum, chopped
1 large carrot, grated
1 tomato, chopped
1 ˝ jars dolmio sauce in the flavour of your choice (I use garden vegetables)
1 box of lasagne sheets

Béchamel Sauce:
2tbsp butter
4tbsp plain flour
2 cups milk
Pinch of salt
2 cups grated cheese

Method:

Brown mince and onion in 2tbsp of oil. Once cooked drain juices.
Add celery, capsicum, tomato and carrot and stir through.
Add sauce and simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and set aside.
To make béchamel sauce:

Place butter in saucepan and melt over a low heat.
Remove from heat and add flour, milk and salt.
Place back on low-med heat and stir, crushing all lumps.
Leave on heat giving a quick stir every minute or 2 until mixture becomes thick.
Add grated cheese and stir through until melted.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Putting it all together:

Preheat oven at 200 degrees.
Spray a small amount of cooking spray into lasagna dish.
Starting with meat mixture place a shallow layer in the bottom the dish, followed by a small amount of béchamel sauce spread over it then a layer of lasagne sheets. Continue the layers until the meat runs out and then on top of the last layer of lasagne sheets spread all of the remaining béchamel sauce evenly.
Lastly, sprinkle a little grated cheese over the top, place in oven and cook for 40 minutes or until top turns golden brown.
Enjoy!
