dating scan

Well..., I went for my dating scan yesterday. I drank the 1 litre of water as told, and when I got there the lady goes "you have a mighty full bladder dont you, very full, too full" and i was thinking, well i drank the amount of water i was told too! So she made me go to the loo and let part of it out for 5 seconds, then she said it was still too full, and said let another 5 seconds worth out! AND OMG! That is the hardest thing to do, especially when you feel so busting as it is :laughing:

Anyway, I saw the little heart beating, it was so good to see it! I thought I was 7 weeks 3 days from LMP, but dating scan said I was only 6 weeks 3 days. :( I know its only a week, but it make a difference!! Has anyone else had their scan yet and be told that you arent as far as you thought you were and as far as doctor thought you were??

So I am now due on 27 June. If I keep my legs closed for 3 days, i will get $5,000.00 baby bonus instead of $4,000.00! I am sure by that time i wont give a **** and just want the baby out! hehe

well i havent had a scan yet but im expecting to go back a week too seems like that happens a lot, my sister in law had the same they put her back 1 week and 1 day

my dating scan is tomorrow, i am meant to be about 8weeks.

awww congrats!! how wonderful, with DS i was like you my bladder was way too full & i had to let some out... OMG what a joke, i was nearly in tears... :no: however i didn't care when i saw the scan i was only 5weeks & 4days..(heartbeating) i new i was early but thats early
so they made me go back & check at 8weeks it gave the same EDD.
This time i had my scan & it said i was 8weeks & 5days further along than i thought.. hmmm must have ovulated before i thought i did.. anyways... this time i only drank 1litre 45mins before so i wasn't busting.. but its better to have more as you can always let some out!!! eeekkkkk even though thats harder it would be even harder to have to go back cause you(we) didn't drink enough.
I think your dates sound right as the doctors always use your LMP dates as they don't know when you conceive, your only a week out which is great! you prob ovulated a week after your AF started & conceived then.
My EDD is 4june im 10weeks preg(scan) however from LMP dates im 12 weeks preg but that would make me due in may.. so i ovulated later in my cycle.
Hope that helps..because your LMP & your scan dates are close your doctor still may use your LMP dates.
So scan more accurate!:thumbsup:

But that's the werid thing, I only drank 1 litre and it was too full. But i was busting. Must have a small bladder.

It makes it seem so much longer when you know when the LMP was, considering it goes by the gestational age, which is always from date of conception of presume.

Nearly there for your Nuchal scan Birthingbeauty. So exciting. Can definately see bubs then!! :)

I still cant beleive I am pregnant considering I fell whilst on the pill :laughing: Oh well. I am so excited! I cant wait till Nuchal scan to see the baby instead of a little bean.

i went for my scan today and they have put me back too, i thought i was 7.5 to 8weeks but i am 6weeks 5days and due on the 28th june.

thats date suits me better because my daughter's birthday is 2nd June, i wouldn't want their birthdays any closer together. (well not if i can help it)

Wow. It is a bit of a let down though isnt it. Thinking you are further along than you are. I am glad my date changed, we have so many June birthdays, so hopefully I will be a couple of days late and it will push me over to July (I know I wont think that when I am due). No birthdays in July that I know of in the family :)

Ooh - how hard is it to just pee a little? I went for a scan on Tuesday and had to wait 1 1/2 hours longer than expected, so had to go to the loo every 15 mins or so to let out a tinsy bit - so cruel!

I have had 3 scans in the last week (due to some bleeding) and all three came back with different due dates. So I am taking the most advanced one - ha ha!

I'm meeting my ONG on 20th and nuchal scan not long after that. Time is going SOOOOO slowly.

I went in for my first ante-natal visit at 10 weeks. The midwife bought in a very old mobile scanner that didn't pick up anything at all when she tried to find bubs. I was terrified as my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage.

I was lucky enough to get in to have a proper dating scan done and it turns out that instead of being ten weeks I was only 7 weeks 4 days. Argghh! Another 2 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy!!!

Gee, I hate finding out so early! I thought this one had gone under the radar for atleast six weeks but once again, I found out at about three weeks into pregnancy.

isn't the scan so exciting!! I also had a bladder that was too full *ouch*

the technician said all dates given are + or - 1 week, so I was dated about a week less than my LMP. It also confused me until they told me all dates given are based on figures that vary between individuals, so they allow a week either side
