Hi all..

Just want to know if twitching is normal for babies? My dd twitchs in her sleep sometimes. Well it has been 3 times. The first time, she twitched for almost 20 minutes. The second time was shorter for only 5 min, and the third one was another long one, almost another 20 minutes. She only did it in her sleep. It didn't seem to disturb her, she stayed asleep, but her arms and her legs..They were just keep on twitching.

I didn't think any of it at first. But when I mentioned to the middie, she said if it keeps on occuring to get her check to the gp, just to rule out seizures. And now I'm worried...:gloomy:

I have an appointment with the gp this afternoon, but just want to hear if any of you even experience the same thing?

I think newborns generally just move with jerks - this is because they are used to being in fluid, and their movements are a lot more forceful.. but now that they are just in air, their movements are a lot easier..

I am not sure if this is what you mean by twitching?

If its ur bubs whole body that twictches I'd get it checked out

All my babies have twitched when sleeping. You would know the difference between a seizure and a twitch if you saw a seizure.
Sounds pretty normal to me....BTW you have a cute bub, love the avatar!

Thanks UmmInayah for your help. At first I thought they were the normal newborn jerks, too. But somehow they're a bit different, just this feeling YKWIM. Only because I've never seen any other babies did what she was doing, my ds never had any when he was a newborn..

But yeah, I'll see what the gp says
