My DD starts her swimming lessons on Thursday, and i was just wondering what all of you put on your little ones while they are swimming.

Do you use little swimmers or are there other things they can wear in the water?

I use the Eenee swim pants they are washable but yet hold any messy problems in the actual swimmers, they work out cheaper in the long run than buying those little swimmers!

When Vally was less than a year old and started swimming lessons, we had her in a swimming nappy and a tshirt thingy. You know what I mean. One of those swim-shirt things. I've got placenta-brain right now, can't think of the actual name of them. It's UV resistant, it's kinda silky like bathers, it's bright colours.... you know, a swimming-shirt. One of those things. :D

Imy wears a rashie and a eenee nappy! (brilliant things those):smiliedance:

My instructor suggested we also put singlets or 2nd tops under there rashies as it gets cooler as it keeps the cool air off their chests! (i don't understand how:confused: as is all wet but- hey she should know cause she's the instructor!!)

um i like these new smilies so:hugs:

We use a pair of nappy swimwear pants. Bright Bots do some cute ones. At swimming lessons, she doesn't need a rashie, as it's indoors, but she wears one at the beach.

Where do you buy these eenee nappy thingos!? :o

My son is starting his swimming lessons ( with Daddy) on March 25th and i wasn't sure what i needed to put him in.

Where is the best place to buy a rashie for a 6 month old? Somewhere not too expensive. Do Best n Less have them?

Also...what kind of floatation device do they use for the bubs? Do i need to bring one?

my son started swimming lessons last week. I put a little swimmers nappy on him with a pair of board shorts and a rash shirt. Its also a good idea for either mum or dad (whoever is in the pool with them) to wear a rash shirt, as it gives them something to grab. I think depending on their age and experience is whether or not they where a floaty.

K=Mart has a whole heap of both bathers, rashies, boardies, nappy swimpants etc. Very cheap. Very cute.

K-mart etc sell the rashies! I wouldn't take a floatie along, it will be useless. As for the Eenee's try e-bay or try www.eenee.com.au:)

We use either the Huggies little swimmers nappies or the swimmer pants depending on what's at hand and how likely he is to dirty it (I admit it, its just easier to use the disposables if I think I could get a messy one). I got the swimmer pants at Woolworths, can't remember the brand and they are pretty good.

We also use a rashie and board shorts set. I find the rashie and shorts really useful as he is soooo slippery particularly getting out of the pool and they make it much easier to hold him. I am totally paranoid I'll drop him, particularly as I have stupid arthritic hands that sometimes have a mind of their own. Most of the others at our swimming lessons are dressed the same including the girls.

I was also told by the swim centre (and at a briefing with Laurie Lawrence) to wear a T-Shirt into the water so that the little man has something to easily grab hold of should he need. Given my post-baby body there's no complaints on this front from me.
