Cos its getting so hot, too hot to cook inside anyways, DP and I thought we'd fill the bbq and cook outside from now on.
Just wondering what your best bbq recipes are, we havent done this in ages, and want to get adventurous with cooking on there ie, just not steak lol.
thanks!

this is kind of a side dish but really yummy.
Houlumi and mushroom garlic
slice the houlumi and put it in a zip lock bag with the mushrooms (stalks taken out) dice garlic finely put in the bag and some olive oil, let it marinate in the fridge for half an hour then fry them up on the bbq and then when you put in on your plate squeeze some lemon over it. Its really yum! You can also put them on skewers to make a kabab style.

I marinate chicken breasts, cut them into tenderloins (thin trips, but not too small) and cook them on the bbq...
Also on the barbie we thinnly slice potato and sweet potato, and cook it on the bbq with the onion!
How about kebabs.....make up skewers of steak cube, pineapple, red onion, cherry tomato etc, and cook them on the bbq!
As an accompaniment to the meat, I make a really nice healthy salad...but it requires some inside cooking! Its a baked potato and pumpkin salad, with baby spinach....so yumm!!!!
With the fish, we have fresh Lemon grass, fresh garlic chives (from my herb garden) and some butter and cook on the bbq....I dont eat it either but other love it!
Also prawns on the bbq in a sweet chilli sauce and lemon grass for those who like seafood!

Well my oven is broken and Im at least another month away from getting my new kitchen so we cook on the BBQ nearly every night.
We do everything on the BBQ (if u have one with a lid its just like cooking in an oven)
So some of our regs are:
* Roast Pork - so good on the bbq
* Stuffed mushies (normally i stuff em with shallots, parmasen, S&P and a dash of cream) then put the lid down and cook for 15 mins
* Chicken & veggie kebabs
* All types of meat - lamb, veal racks etc - I just make different marinades to spice things up
* Mediteranian veggies - Tomatoes, zuccini, red onion, mushies - chop into chunks, cook for 3 to 4 mins in a dash of olive oil then place into a bowl and add the dressing (crushed garlic clove, chopped basil and balsamic) cover tightly with foil and let steam while u cook the meat. These are totally delish
*Corn on the cob BBQ'd is just beautiful
* Potato chips on the bbq are good - just blanch them first so they dont burn b4 cooking through
* All types of seafood - I normally wrap fish so its steamed not grilled
* BBQ'd chilli prawns thrown thru a mango salad are beautiful
We have just started using those wooden chips - adds a beautiful smokey falvour to any meats
Tonight Im doing roast lamb with garlic and rosemary on the BBQ - now how aussie is that

In the deli at Coles or even Woolies they have marinated drummettes. Theres BBQ, Satay, Plum etc.....Around $7 a kilo.
They are great on the BBQ and so cheap...
