Just wanted to say that Ive stretched out DD1's (6months old) feeds for the last two days. I know what some mums think of CHN's here! but I took some advice on trying to cut down the feeding to only 5 a day (roughly every 2 and half hours) with water and farex in between.
So far its been going very well. I dont feed her first thing in the morning like I used to and now realise that anything before the 2 and a half hours was snacking. I dont know how I got it so wrong as I was really making things difficult for myself. I couldnt finish anything eg the washing or dishes or eating at a restaurant and now I finally got the chance to. I try and spend a lot of time with her too, keep her occupied with books, walks and toys. I think she is used to the idea of waiting now and really eats a lot longer when she does which is much better for the both of us.
She does get a little restless towards the due time of her feed and I keep her busy by reading or playing and taking her for a walk outside. She isnt really making a fuss at this stage just wants more attention. Although she used to, she hardly falls asleep on the booby too during the day, she just falls asleep most of the time after showing all the tired signs.
Still working at the night time settling as she is difficult to settle at 8.30 but will take on board some suggestions mums have given me in previous settling threads.
So far so good. :)
