Hi

I was just wondering what brand of formula everyone uses?? And Why they decided to use that brand of formula???

I use S26, I started dd on that one because thats the brand my mum used when I was a baby.

I use Bellamy's organic because if he has any other formula besides the organic ones he throws everything back up again and they make him pretty sick.

we started on Nestle starter, but that gave him really bad wind, so we swaped to NAN HA 1 which is easier for him to digest.

Started on Karicare Gold as that was what we were using in the hospital. However just recently i changed over to Heinz anf wished we had done it earlier. Not only is it much cheaper but it is thicker which is better for my DD who suffers with reflux.

we used heinz for both and its great, so much cheaper and if you compare ingredients there is basically no difference between it and other brands.

We used SMA. I was confused over all the different varieties: regular, gold, HA, etc. So I grabbed one that my CHN had suggested. And because it was cheap and DD had no problems with it we didn't switch until she was around 17 months (to a toddler formula).

My bub started on S26 then went to Karicare, then Heinz & they all blocked her up. Even tried Lactose Free & soy as I was lactose intolerent as a bub! Eventually I tried Nan 1HA Gold & that was great! We have just swapped to Nan 2HA gold & no probs!!

Hi, I used Nan HA Gold 1 & now 2 with Liv. She was given a couple of feeds of formula in hospital as my milk didn't come in until end of day 5 & as this is what the hospital gave her & she took to it, I continued with it when I stopped BF. My midwife told me that they use Nan HA as it is less likely to make baby constipated, is easier for them to digest & is especially good for babies that may suffer from reactions.

Owen has been on Karicare Gold since he was 5 days old. It has been great for him.

I am somebody who cannot breastfeed so next bub will be having Karicare as well. :)

We have been using Karricare Gold since day 1 but have been thinking about changing toi Heinz just because Of the cost! But otherwise we havent had any issues ever with Karricare!

We started dd on s26 then we switched to heinz for the cost but it didn't agree with dd so we switched back to s26 and dd is happy on that.

I started bubs off on S26, but noticed he was throwing up alot. After a friend told me we can get NAN cheaper I switched him over. His vomiting halved, but now I add a scoop of Karicare thickner to each bottle and he rarely vomits at all.

With DD1 I used Heinz as it was the cheapest at the time and Hannah seemed to like it.
With DD2 I can only use Karicare AR as she will not drink anything else (have tried but she seems to go troppo - not good)

our 3 kids were on karicare gold from birth and never had any dramas. cost wise it is still roughly what we paid for it a few years ago.

I have used S26 Gold for both my girls and had no problems. I first gave DD1 S26 regular because that is what mum used for me but my Dr suggested we try the gold as she was drinking a lot and still seemed hungry. We switched and no more issues.

Katelyn drinks NAN 1HA Gold. That's what was given to her in the hospital so I didn't think there was any need to change it.

My DS also has Nan Ha Gold. He started off on S26 Gold but it made him :barf: after every feed. The CHN recommended Nan as apparently it is good for babies with extra sensitive tummies and allergies etc, but every baby is different so you have to find the one that suits you.

At 4 months i started to give DS one bottle a day of Nan 1 HA Gold, that was fine, i just switched to Heinz as it's cheaper and i think it is much better. :D He still gets breastfed most of the day, just a bottle at night. :)

I have actually tasted quite a few formula milks, and the best tasting to me was the heinz (LOL, but they were ALL GROSS!!!)

My first son had lactogen, as its was what mum gave to us as kids, then went to some formula soy milk, then tried nan, and then hienz and something else, then he went back to the lactogen.

Second son went on S26 as thats what he had in hospital and at the time we could afford it.

Third son, was on S26 gold, but that didnt agree with him, then went to the Hienz (didnt have the gold range at that stage), and he was fine

The twins, went straight on heinz gold for the first few weeks, then just the normal heinz (too expensive otherwise, and at that time it was only $8 a tin)

DD, well nothing but the best for her ;) S26 Gold. Did try the heinz when she was 3 months old, but that didnt agree with her at all, so back to S26 gold (or whatever it was)

Hi Jess,

I think it's the amount of extra minerals and nutrients that they put into the Gold.

Another lovely marketing campaign...."Sure you can buy the standard offering but with all of the good things in the Gold formula, shouldn't you really buy the best for your child ?"...Oh, and of course it's a few $$ extra per tin....:D

jessgray

thanks for clearing that up so a few extra minerals and vitamins cost you a few extra dollars

I have always used Heinz from day one.............have had no problems and am saving around $6 per tin compared to other formulas, and from what i can see the ingredients are all the same :yelclap:

I used s26 Gold formula, as it's the only formula that has an ingredient thats similar to one found in breast milk...Cant remember which ingredient lol

As i work in pharmacy i did a training on S26 and believe it was the best one for my son :) I respect everyone else choices, as other formulas are great, but i believe this one is the one Peter could benefit from the most as a growning newborn :)

Mind you, he's now on cows milk....as he's a big boy lol:laughing:
