Ahh, my favourite PM. Very fond memories of his term in office.

Here's an excerpt from that article, bang on the money as usual (my bold):

Mr Hawke said Prime Minister John Howard's Coalition Government would not be removed from office simply because it had been in power for 11 years.
"I don't think Governments necessarily go out just because they have been in for a long time," he said.
"The people are not so much getting tired of the Government as such, but of the things it has done.
"One of the things that has come to haunt Mr Howard is the question of interest rates, which is very, very real. He knew that no government can say that 'we'll keep them at record lows'.
"And he didn't say anything at the last election about bringing Work Choices in and that has really upset people.
"I have lost count of the number of people as I go around Australia who have traditionally been Liberal voters who are saying Work Choices has turned them off."

Yeah but did you catch the outfit he was wearing when he did this interview. Jeez, he looked like he was auditioning for a role in Miami Vice....and he looked like he was on the drink again.

I'm trying to find a copy of it....

Even the liberal voters being turned off because of the deceipt of JHo and his fellow liberals fancy that.:p
Hawkey is right we can't believe we have it in the bag, that would be foolish - even down to the very last- even though labor does. Yay!
