Hi kadownie, I am new to this fantastic website.
Congrats on becoming an expat. I dont live in Dubai, but Qatar- 40 mins flight from there. It is amazing to think we can bring our kids up in a different culture. i decided to be online tonite and saw this post.

yes, I am here in dubai now. Just moved here actually since June. Dh moved here 1st to sort the house etc. Then me and 2 kids came later.

Nice place, and living as expat is great. I hv always been a expat so this time is not that much different but hvg lived in OZ and calling Brisbane home, though our last check, we came to Dubai frm ACT.

It is very much geared up for family here. As the Emiratis (local Dubai people) are very family oriented. But I must say, as most ppl aware, Dubai is a desert, tehre are not many green park like in Oz. So it is very limited. we are lucky we are close by like walking distance (we are at AL SAFA 2) but i do know there are ppl who comes a long way.

Why not spend a week or two and scout the place 1st. That's what my DD classmate's parents did frm Sydney.

hi .. i live in dubai from 8 years ,,its lovely country ,, the first year its the diffecult years ,,but after that i love it olso my boys ,, we missed the family but its ok they come to visit us 2 times a year ,they love dubai and shopping here ,,, there r many plases for kids and family activets and olso work a besniss is the best { no taxes}:thumbsup: ..if u want 2 ask me any thing be free ,,,:hugs:
