Race hat for baby

Anyone know where I could get a cute little race hat for DD?

We are going to Emirates Stakes Day (Melb) and I have the cutest little polka dot dress for her but need a little hat. She doesnt have enough hair for a clip or fascinator.

I might sound a bit shallow but I really want to get some cute pics at her first races.

You could go to Myer and get a baby beret (hopefully in a colour on her dress) and then stick things to it yourself, some polka dots to match her dress and some colourfull feathers sticking out the top??

You can get colourful feathers from cheap shops, big pack for $2 and you could get some felt sheets from there also and cut and sew???

that sounds like fun. Did you see Better homes last night. I flicked it on just as the lady was making a race hat from a headband and some feathers etc from spotlight. you could do the same thing with a baby headband. It would look so cute.

... or just buy a facinator and glue that onto a headband :)

But I would definitely try to find an actual hat rather than fascinator type of thing.

If it is a hot day, you won't want DD in the sun without a hat on anyway I would have thought?

Have you tried lincraft or spotlight, they have some fantastic hat making supplies, and the basic hats too. I am sure they would have cute little girls straw sunhats that you could use as a base to add too.

Try Pumpkin Patch - their girl's hats are gorgeous, and I saw some with polka dots in there a while ago (although it might have been last season's stock...so you MAY be lucky, or you may not).

That's a link ot the last season hats that I assume tam was talking about. :) You can normally buy the same things at outlet stores like DFO etc :)
