BUMP :)
I've been told to pierce & insert 2, twice a day.........
I took them orally, inserting them just seemed too odd for me.
I was told on the Thursday (when one day overdue) that I was not at all dilated. I took EPO on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday, I was 3cm dilated and I went into labour on Wednesday.
So, did EPO work? No idea. It could have just happened that way naturally, and the fact that I took the EPO made me THINK it worked, but it would have happened nonetheless.
My ob said that if anything actually worked, no one would ever have an overdue baby.

Nope same as castor oil, it did nothing. I took EPO and RLT from 28 weeks, and i still needed to be induced
Orally i mean for the EPO from 28 weeks, then i was inserting them from 36 weeks i think.

Wanted to bump this, save starting a new thread......
What is the function of inserting EPO? Will they cause BH or just soften the cervix?

They are meant to soften the cervix.
Now while i used them for a few weeks before i had G & wasnt dialated etc i still think they helped move things along quickly when the time came if that makes sense.
I was just going to start a thread like this:cool:
Where do u get them and which one is better?

EPO has the building blocks for protaglandins -which are needed to soften your cervix.
I think, like everyone has said, that it's not going to instantly put you into labour- however, in saying that- I took them orally from about 35 weeks- and inserted some on the night I went into labour- though I was 41 weeks (by my scan- I think I was closer to 42 weeks), had had a s&s in the morning and had been taking lots of homeopathic remedies to get labour going... so I guess it helped, but I was ready to go anyway..
I think you should exercise caution though- don't use too much of the stuff. I have discovered since that some people are extra sensitive to EPO and it can cause some major problems-
