View Full Version : July 07 Bubs Milestones.....
mumzdaword
30-10-2007, 11:17
Hello July Mummies:wave:
That thought it would be a good idea to start this thread so that we can jot down when our lil ones reach a new Milestone.
Just shows us where our Bubs are at and could also help others so they can see if their bub is a fast developer or taking their sweet time with certain things...
It will also be good to look back on later on or if we suddenly forget when they first did something.
I'll add a few to start you off, just copy and paste... If i forget any, feel free to add...
Slept through the Night-
First Smiled-
First Laughed-
Rolled Over-
Said First Word-
I think thats all we need for the time being...If there is any more that need to be added feel free to add them..

That is not what this thread is intended for... It is just a comparison to see where YOUR child is at...You will then see whether they have taken their times with some things and developed earlier with other things...If it does so happen to turn into a contest i WILL ask the mods to close....
BTW....I cant believe How good everyones bubs are going....I cant believe that Hayley hasnt rolled over yet....Something she is taking her sweet time doing...

Slept through the Night - Has slept 5-7hrs since birth but lately a good 8hrs which I think is great for bf only babe.
First Smiled - 4 weeks (and it was at mummy:hugs: )
First Laughed - 8 weeks
Rolled Over - Had a few rolls at 6ish weeks
Said First Word - lots of oohs cooing and aaahing. She does a really good squeal as well.
Started Teething - 12 weeks the other day I noticed a hard lump!!
tj I personally wouldn't worry about it getting nasty. I think all mums know there bubs are best. I think it comes down to how you personally take someone else's pride in their child.

Dont worry, Zeke isnt rolling yet and is 13 weeks old if I remember rightly my ds1 didnt roll properly till he was over four months, and then he took off like a rocket, rolled from one side of the room to the other and was crawling by 6months lol. You never know what they are going to do.
Personallly I hope Zeke doesnt progress that fast as they are trouble once they are mobile lol, getting into EVERYTHING!!
mumzdaword
30-10-2007, 14:52
She does a really good squeal as well.
 Hayley does aswell....It will be all quiet and then all of a sudden she will squeal at the top of her lungs...first time she did it i almost jumped through the roof....and now she still gets a jump out of me...always take me by surprise...

mumzdaword (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/member.php?u=20982) she'll get there , it like hasn't laughed yet i don't think, as soon as they start rolling they don't stop and they get stuck alot, tali is no stop on the move, i have had to buy her one of those thing to stop rolling in her sleep as it wakes her up when she rolls

Oh yes i agree with them getting into everything..
My Besties Lil Man is 14months and he is a little tornado...Gets into EVERYTHING!!!!!!
He just got his new nickname "Hurricane Harry"
Hayley is 4 months today...she attempts to roll but doesn't even get to her side...somehow i think she is going to sit up on her own before rolling over...she sits in her rocker now and will strain to sit up...couple of times she has almost done it too...

Julie 6mnths:hair: far too young to understand no and danger. You must of been pulling your hair out!!
Lil X-men
30-10-2007, 17:36
Yes I was:hair: then what was even worse he was walking very well by ten months!! My baby grew up waaaay too fast, so as much as I was proud of his milestones I am hoping Zeke isn't in such a hurry, I want him to stay a bubby for awhile yet:yes:
Bryce was the same as Xav Julie he was up and running aorund by 10 months and I think he ws rolling over by this stage of 3 months (Baileys Age). I'm hoping Bailey will go a little longer before he starts getting into things.
mumzdaword i wasnt having ago at you personaaly for starting this thread, it just that on another forum i go to, we have started a similar thread and some of the mums have become quite catty towards those whos bubs arent developing as fast as theirs, i just dont want to see thisone go the same way.
I too love chatting to Gf's with bubs around the same age for comparison.
OLT - i have nothing wrong with another mum's pride of their baby, heck im the proudest of all.... BUT when i have seen other mums say
"OMG i cant believe your baby isnt doing blah blah yet, there must be something wrong wth them"
i'm sure take offence as im sure YOU would.
So forgive me for asking everyone to keep it nice..

Ikwym I have seen it myself but on here I have another group and they are really good... :)
It is amazing that people get arked up over the simplest things. Seriously who the heck cares if your baby isn't doing what most are already doing. All babies are different and all take different amounts of time to do things. The bottom line is people are stupid.
Anyways moving along...
It's been a while fellow July 07 mummies but here I am with a milestone update. Riley is 4 months old and we've been rolling on to the tum for about a month or so now, in fact he has started to commando crawl already. This kid is so advanced for his age...it's sad - I want him to stay a 'baby' baby for a while longer yet. The others (my kids) took a lot longer to do the things he's already doing. I also think he's beginning to teethe.
Til next post,
Lollie

Oh hun thats quite alright, i know where you are coming from...Some people are very competitive and like to think their baby is "the best"...
As already said "every baby is different"
I just thought it would be great to see how all our bubs are developing...and also use as a comparison...just thought it would be good to see where each individual bub is at
"are they quick at this", are they taking their sweet time with that" etc
I now know that Hayley smiled reasonably early, but is taking her sweet time rolling over...
Thats all this thread was intended for....
I hope we are able to continue adding to this thread and recording all our gorgeous bubs milestones for a long time to come....
All our bubs are growing up so fast and are all so clever....feels like only yesterday that we were all giving birth....

 Just wen tback and read the whole thread and just wanted to say that it is great for me to see what stage everyone elses bub is up too as it then helps me to say well yes she is doing that and that other babies have done that at that stage too. IYKWIM? Being a premmie I understand that she may not do things as fast as others but as someone said all babies are different. So I hope everyone keeps up with this thread as I find it exciting to share everyone else' achievments!:smiliedance:

OMG OMG OMG.....Hayley just rolled:smiliedance:
It was only from front to back, but its a start...
Oh im so excited....
now to wait (ever so patiently) for back to front...
Sorry i had to share...the look of shock on my face though was priceless:p
lol wtg Hayley. I'm sure she will have it all down pat in no time.
WHOOO HOOO HAYLEY!! :smiliedance:
It must be the day for it.
Lochie did as well - Front to back only, both ways, left and right.
I was squealing like a stuffed pig in excitment.
I managed to capture it on video camera :D
I just went to find the plugs to upload it to the PC and i realised that it doesnt have any...:hair: it is about 5 years old, you know where it still records onto a little tape thing.
so i bought a new digital one on ebay just now.
Ill share it with you once the new one arrives
That is awesome Tara. You sure it does not have any leads to go to pc? ours is only a couple of years old and it is a small tape one and you are able to upload it to your computer via a lead.
nope toni... only AV plugs so it can go into the tv.
Its not one of the smaller newer cameras its about the size of a house brick.
Ill ask my geeky BIL if there is a way to convert it over from VHS ot DVD?? Frig i hope so there is hours worth of stuff on these tapes, ive just never tried to get it onto the PC.
New one should be here early next week at the LATEST!!

How exciting ladies thats great news.
:fingerscrossed: that you will be able to convert it over to dvd. But even if you can't you will be able to take it into a store to get them to put it onto dvd. Even so you will still be able to put it onto a regular VCR and you would at least have the VCR to look back on.
Looks like some of us have nothing better to do today then to come onto BH :p . I got my tidying done by 9 this morning so I have had to do nothing all day today. Oh I did spend about half an hour cleaning out the garage as we have had mice in there and we set ratsac out and I could smell some nasty smells had to find them and get rid of them......I know ewwwwwwww gross......almost made me sick......one of them was dead in DH shoe so he will prolly say to throw them out now lol.....that's ok though he has plenty of them he's worse than me with shoes :p lol

Zeke rolled today, 2nd November I am remembering to note the date this time, I cant remember exactly when DS1 did for the first time.
Anyhoo I left the room and he was playing on his play mat bashing his toys about and when I came back in the room he was on his tummy! He had his arm stuck under his belly though so wasn't impressed!!
He is yet to do it again though!

Oh yeah that has got to be the best, I just love bed time when we say, nite nite see you in the morning, I love you and he repeats it back to me, oh it makes all the tantrums and trouble worth it!:o
I am so proud my wee man is growing up but I dont want it to happen too fast, especially if he does end up being my last bubba I can't imagine never having a wee innocent immoblie bub again *sob*.
Holding the rattle, hmm not sure on the date of that but it wasnt too long ago, I was practising pass the teething ring today and he was doing so well at clasping it, then putting it in his mouth but then he would drop it like his grip wasnt strong enough to keep ahold of it, frustrating for him coz he REALLY wants to chew chew chew!!

Oh it's so much fun isn't it. I told the kids she plays with her toys now, well ds got his fisher price truck (which is heavy) and dropped on her belly for a play.
I put a nappy on her bouncer to take into playgroup well she had it in her mouth in seconds:rolleyes: :p
Bailey is still not really co-ordinated at all with his hands. He does grab at his bottle a little and tries reaching out for things but still can't keep his arm still enough to actually grab it. The other day I was cuddling him and he was trying to grab at my face but instead he just kept hitting me in the face lol. He grabs at the blankets or napies when he is laying on the floor and starts sucking on them though.

HI everyone! Dd is doing great, holding on to things really well. They seem to be in her hands a little longer everyday. And boy does everything go in her mouth or what!!!!!!
We still havent got real strong neck muscles as she is slow at the tummy time thing:rolleyes: but she loves to be carried around in front of us facing the world, and she has got two definate words at the moment. :smiliedance: MUM! hee hee, Dh is a little put out so he is now trying real hard to teach her to say dad! The other is WOW! Sounds more like wooow.
Oh and she can crawl now, yep thats right she cant roll, or move on her stomach, no, she crawls on her back:laughing:  I put her down on the gym and within a few minutes she scoots herself backwards almost off the mat:laughing: Thats my clever girl

Zeke is 4 and a three quarter months now and has been rolling for ages now, but has only just started to get into the swing of it and roll from one side of the room to the other lol!
He cant sit yet but then DS1 was crawling at six months before he could sit unaided at 7mmonths and I suspect Zeke will be the same as he is already trying to pull his knees up underneath him to crawl ( just this past week).
He also slept through the night for the first time a few weeks ago but has been doing so for the past week woohoo, not getting excited it could change at any time
He has been teething since 2months but stilll no teeth!
Ezekiel started holding onto his toes (and chewing on them haha) at 2 and half months I was thinking it was only a month ago but I checked pics I took of him doin it and it was back in October so he was an early grabber lol, speakin of grabbin he has found his erm, bits and pieces too and has good ol grab, typical male lol!

You will really have your hands full if he is up and going at 6 months.
A GF of mine her lil one was the same and then walking at 9 months (arrghhh i dont want it THAT early) she really had her hands full early on.

I think Nayte's going to be up and crawling very soon aswell, he's already pulling himself up on his side to get into a sitting position, and he srated pushing himself up onto his hands and knees in the last week, he's already getting around the house army crawling! argghh it's just happening all to fast this time! :( Im miss his newborn-ness
I think it's part of his teething , but if he grabs hold of something he slams it into his mouth, he's lke a ravage puppy!
Had to laugh about the 'bits' grabbing Julz. BOYS huh!
TJ - I'm imagining Lochie getting around in his walker on tip toes, reminded me of Fred Flinstone! lol
Slept through the Night- 5 weeks till 8 weeks but not since!! One day soon i hope! Still hoping !!!
First Smiled- 3 weeks
First Laughed- 10 weeks
Rolled Over- rolled from back to belly at 5 months but still cant roll from belly to back

Hi everyone. I'm new here but thought this would be a great place to start by introducing my baby girl, Adelaide. She was born on 12th July, 2007
First slept thru the night - Not yet!
First smiled - 8 weeks
First laughed - 12 weeks, but has only just started laughing everyday. It was very sporadic until now
First rolled over - 9 weeks back to tummy, about 5 months for the other way.
First words - about 3 weeks ago she started with dad-dad-dad. Then about a weeks later mom-mum-mum and bub-bub-bub followed.
First teeth - Nothing yet, doesnt even look close!
Sits unassissted - Totally not interested in sitting on her own
I cant wait for her to start waving and clapping!

Said First Word- Lots of babbles, squeals and syllables, but no real words with meaning.
Holds Feet- 10 weeks
Passes things from one hand to the other- 15 weeks
Sit unassisted- from about 5 1/2 months
He also feeds himself most of the time (and gets it EVERYWHERE!) and holds his own bottles. He has started to lift himself up to a sitting position from lying down, but only gets about half way up! Abs aren't strong enough yet, and he gets so mad at himself!

Said First Word - 34 weeks + 4 days, started off saying a-da a-da, then within a few minutes he got dad dad dad.
This morning we noticed he was moving his mouth like he was hungry or wanting to say something. This was obviously what he was gearing himself up for! :cloud9:
Not sure if i'd consider this his first steps, but today he's also been holding onto furniture and letting go, then he takes a step or two to grab onto another object.
