Hi girls. I have some lamb mince and I was thinking of making rissoles with it but does anyone have any other ideas and what can I serve with it?

I use Lamb in bolognaise for something different and use it with some garlic onion, grated carrot in puff pastry to make sausgae rolls. :chef:

Sausage rolls, that sounds great! I didn't know I could use it for that. Great idea!!

Tasty too, sometimes add grated cheese for an extra boost. Oh and i use the frozen puff pastry sheets and cook them at 180c for about 20 mins

Lamb mince is great in rissoles - serve them with mint jelly/sauce or mint gravy *drools*

Anything you do with beef mince you can do with lamb mince.
In all reality - you can subsitute any sort of mince in a recipe.
I often use pork or lamb instead of beef, or even chicken if I feel like that at the time.

I use lamb mince wherever I'd use beef mince.

Chow Mein is a good choice...

Some great ideas here. Thanks so much:). I just get so sick of cooking the same stuff all the time. Want to try something different for a change. Cooking can get so boring sometimes!

Normally I use lamb mince in bolognaise and lasagne. I've recently been making lamb koftas with minced lamb using the recipe below and serving it with lemon rice and steamed vegies. Alternately, you can serve it as suggested in the recipe.

1 tbsp pine nuts
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp dried mint
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
750g lamb mince
olive oil for grilling

to serve:
4 rounds pita bread
200ml thick yoghurt
1/2 tsp sumac
fresh coriander leaves for serving
1 lemon, quartered

Toast the pine nuts in a hot, dry pan until golden, then cool. Whiz the pine nuts, onion, cumin, cinnamon, allspice, mint, salt and pepper in a food processor until smooth.
Add the lamb and whiz until it forms a paste.
Form the paste into sausages and press metal skewers along their length, tamping the meat around the skewer. Alternatively, form the meat into small meatballs.
Brush with a little oil and grill for 6-8 minutes, turning once or twice.

To serve
Lightly grill the pita bread, add a dollop of yoghurt and top with the kofta. Scatter with sumac and coriander leaves and serve with lemon quarters.Serves 4
