Nick has only been on solids for a few weeks, and is 6 1/2months, but seems to be such a pig. :D I am not sure if I am giving him too much food, so thought i'd see what other bubs his age are doing.
He has been having the following (times are all app - led by him, not a fixed schedule, some days he sleeps less, others more):
7am: boobie (15mins app)
8am: 2 ice-cubes pear/apple & 4 teaspoons of farex - mixed up it is about 1/2-3/4C food. Which seems WAY too much for his age, but he keeps asking for more & cries when it is all finished & i take the bowl away.
9am-11am - sleep
11am boobie (app 10mins)
1-3pm nap
3pm boobie
5:30 boobie - sometimes a 20min cat nap after this, not always
6:30 1/3C pumpkin +2t farex
7:30-8pm boobie & sleep (hopefully)
He will then wake at about midnight, 3am then 6-7am. Most the time, he has a quick 10 min feed (more for comfort i think, but can't seem to settle him with the dummy at these times).
So he is having plenty of boobie (he is also a happy chucker, so looses some of his milk, which is why i think he wants it so often) but I am a little worried it is a bit too much food for his age - i don't want to rush him, but he is definately asking for it. Generally he is happy, healthy & TMI - but pooing regularly & no difficulty.
What does your bubs do?

Ebony has 3-4 big breastfeeds in a 24 hour period plus 3 solids (pureed foods) and some water/heinz baby juice 125mls a day.
Sleep, she sleeps on average 8/9/10pm - 6/7am and has two day sleeps of 2 hours.
Alex is only 5 months so no food as yet.
But he has a 240ml bottle at 5.30am, 11.30am,5.30pm & 8pm
He has 2 big naps a day and on little cat nap after the 5.30pm milk.
I was reading somwhere that at this age milk should still be there main source of food. We will be starting food soon but no rush he is a very happy baby sleeps from 8.30pm right through to 5.30am.

i give aalliyah 120mls at 3:30am, 6:30am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm. so basically every three hours lol... except over night where she sleeps from 6pm-3:30.... she used to have a bottle at 9 and sleep through but im just following her lead and happy to do so...
i worry that i'm giving her too much though. although she does like having 120 mls... playing/sleeping then having more iykwim.
and we've just started solids every second day and lunchtime. i give her some farex and root veges and apple puree... homemade:thumbsup:

gee, now I KNOW me and starfish are failing dismally at this routine thing  our days and nights are all over except for one thing, she goes to bed by about 7.30pm and stays there except for feeds until at least 2am.
otherwise, I'll fess up: some nights she does NOT need to be brought out of her room for a roll around at some time bwteen 2am and 5am, some nights she does. that's it, she's awake and nothing but getting her up for a roll around or a bounce in her chair will settle her back ready to sleep.
sometimes she's up at 5am, sometimes it's not till 8am. sometimes she is really keen on 3 meals a day and boobie for twenty minutes or so every hour or two between 7am and 7.30pm, other days she's a quick feeder and waits a couple of hours between them and only wants a bit of her meals. sometimes she naps really well and only has two solids meals because she slept thru lunch only waking long enuff for a boobie top up, other days she naps badly and we fit three in and endless boobie.
she will eat up to almost the amount in a jar of baby food, everything is homemade except the organic baby cereal, we are on millet now not rice for greater nutrient value of millet.
but routine is just a stranger to our house except when it comes to activities, there are some she's really fixed on, that kinda give the day some shape here. storytime for one
Sam has 4 bottles a day of 240ml and 2 solid feeds.
7-7.30am wake up have 240ml bottle
9 - 9.30 Cat nap on way too and from school.
10.30 - Big sleep for approx 2 hours
12pm 240ml bottle and 1 ice cube of pumpkin and 3tsp farex
2pm sleep for 1 hour
4pm 240ml bottle
5pm 2ice cubes of veg or fruit
6pm Cat nap 20mins
7.30 -8pm 240ml bottle then bed
Sleeps 10 -12 hours
Varies slightly day to day with times but that's the basics.
Sam also cries when he's finished and I take the bowl away but he soon stops.

Hi,
Cody is 5 1/2 months and has been on solids for a month. He loves his food and is turning off his milk, but his day is pretty much the same each day now:
wake around 5.30am. 80ml formula. Stay awake for an hour then sleep for an hour.
7.30am - 2 tsp organic cereal (bellamy's) & 2 cubes pureed apple. 20ml water.
9am - sleep 30mins
10am - 120ml formula.
11.30am - sleep 30mins
12noon - 3tsp pureed apple (2tsp cereal if still hungry). 40ml water.
1pm - sleep 30mins
1.30pm - 120ml formula.
3.30pm - sleep 30mins
4.30pm - 120ml formula
5pm - sleep 30mins
5.30 - 2tsp cereal & 4 cubes pumpkin & carrot.
7pm - 150ml formula.
7.30-8pm - sleep (all night).
We started solids early due to his unmissable interest in everything I was putting in my mouth! Just keeping him on pear & apple for fruit & carrott & pumpkin till he is 6 months.
Hope that helps.
He loves his food and is turning off his milk,We are having this problem too! He also loves water in a sippy cup with meals.
Ok just a rough idea because we don't tend to worry about a routine but this is around about what happens.
6am- boobie feed back to sleep, usually fed for only like 10 mins.
9am- mashed pear
wake for an hour then has an hour nap
11am-boobie feed
awake for 2 hours then has a hour nap
2pm-boobie feed
awake for an hour then has a nap for 2 hours
5pm- sweet potato
then sleep till 10pm
10pm- boobie feed
sleeps right through till 6am if not then there will be little bits of boobie whenever he wants it during the night.
