:smiliedance: Very excited... shaved my legs for the first time in about 6-8 weeks.

I need to know... am I the only person who gets excited when I finally find the time to sit down and do this....

It made me feel almost like a woman again...

Last Saturday was the first eyebrow wax in 18 months... I have to tell you... it hurt like hell... but I had a smile on my face the entire time...

I just don't seem to get time for these things anymore.. I was just wondering if other woman are the same...

Well done - it does make a difference doesn't it?
I am always excited when I actually find time and childcare and can have a bikini wax - makes me feel quite liberated and grownup again!

Oh yeah, that does feel good. I also found being able to actually physically shave my legs myself after being pregnant the BEST!!!!:smiliedance:

To be honest, I haven't shaved my legs since before last winter
I have fair hair and they are barely noticable and I wear stockings whenever I wear a skirt. The height of laziness!

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I shaved/waxed my legs!

My eyebrows and armpits are always done (waxed) but I have never really done anything to my leg hair. It is very light and fine so I guess I just don't notice it, I also think the hair is like this because I didn't shave them all the time when I was younger. The only time I 'do' them is if we have to go out for a special event and I don't shave, I use a hair removal cream.

I had a giggle about the comment about trying to shave the legs when pregnant... for some reason when I was in labour I got it into my head that having a groomed bikini line and clean legs was important... I couldn't reach my legs let alone see my bikini line so poor DP was talked into doing it...

PLEASE NOTE... Shaving whilst having contractions... DANGEROUS... and interesting !! :smiliedance:

Weirdest thing... didn't even think about the hair issue once I got to the hospital.. For some reason when I was at home sitting in my spa breathing through contractions I was conviced that the drs and nurses would have a giggle at my hairy state if it wasn't fixed...

I think hormones do strange things to my body lol:p

Oh yes!!!!! I'm not the only one.

Funny thing is when it came to get me ready for my emergency c-section the nurse said oh good you're already trimmed up nicely and I felt quite embarrassed.

He he he, I totally agree with everyone. It's such a great feeling being about to shave your legs after being preggers! I felt so sorry for my hubby, and he did such a crappy job sometimes it used to drive me nuts! And when I shave them now it makes me feel a lot better about myself, like I'm keeping myself pretty or something...if that makes sense! Lol!

I just got an eyebrow wax done yesterday, they haven't been done for about 4 months! And man do I feel soooo much better! Yay! :yelclap:

I don't feel as completely mad now that I know other women got the hubbies / partners to do it too..:yelclap:

It's something he never lets me lives down and give me a hard time about it often (all in fun I promise).. We had some very "interesting" pregnant moments...

I know this will me TMI but I am giggling again and feel the need to share.

We are avid campers and we were on the way to Albany (7 hour drive) when I was 8 months pregnant. Of course by this stage DS was sitting on top of my bladder and we did ALOT of pit stops... Unfortunately one of them was in the middle of nowhere. (when you gotta go you gotta go)

DP was practical... Just squat in the bush he says... YEAH RIGHT.. and topple over.. So he did the gentlemanly thing and held me upright so I could relieve a bit of the pressure...

Half way done and I start laughing... DP was concerned thinking that my body was convulsing for another reason... He stands me up.... "What's so funny?" he asks....

You should have seen the look on his face when I told him I'd peed on his shoe...

Eeeek... I am reminded about this on a weekly basis at least...:)

I don't remember the last time the bikini line got a look in... I just get in the shower and it's in and out.. I always have another million things to do..

I am contemplating going for a wax... OUCH it hurts already

Glad I could make a few of you giggle with the shoe story... If I ever get down or mellow I always think of that... gets a grin out of me everytime!!:)

Whilst everyone is on the topic of hair... did anyone have weird hair growth during pregnancy? A girlfriend of mine started having hairs grow on her chin! And I've got weird hairs on my thighs :( like Neaby said - no bikini line.

Can anyone relate? Can anyone tell me if your hair growth goes back to normal afterwards? Ewww

Glad I read these stories, I'm going to make DF shave my legs now because I just can't get to them anymore and if he complains I can say - everyone's partners do it!

Thanks :D

Isn't it weird what the hormones do to our bodies :( I hate waxing too, but looks like it'll be a permanent part of my life from this point on!

 at this thread!

I have NEVER gone more than 3 days without shaving since I was 16! I have always shaved EVERYTHING because I hated being all hairy 'down there', esp when AF arrives, YUCK!!!

I just can't stand the feel of it, every day through my pregnancy I shaved, never needed DH's help. Lucky for me I don't tend to get excess body hair!

My poor cousin has a snail trail that rival's my hubbie's! She waxes it but when she went on the pill it got really thick and to sensitive to wax

LOL, this thread is sooooo funny!

I shave under my arms every couple of days, but being half italian it doesnt matter what I do, I always have a dark shadow under my arms. I'm way to much of a sook to wax!

Since being preggers I have rarely shaved my legs, because its too darn hard to get to them....and I usually trim down there as I hate the thought of the doctor or midwives having to see it "natural"!

Ive had my eyebrow (yes mono) waxed once since being preggers, and my lip. But I usually attack the eyebrow every other day with the tweesers. The lip hasnt really grown much since preggers, and the chin is okay! :D

The most horrid thing has been this though.....MY TUMMY HAS GOTTEN SO HAIRY! Its GROSS! Please someone tell me that goes away!

Haha Kat......

My belly has gotten really hairy since being preggi too.......dp just thinks its soooooo amusing!!

Im not sure if it goes away or not...... i bloody hope so!! lol it actually makes me wonder if im having a boy.... you know growing excess body hair maybe cause of the added male hormones??? Hmmmmm well ill no soon i guess........

Sorry I'm having a girl and have excess hair!! I guess I'm just glad I'm not like my girlfriend who has a mini beard - hmm actually, hers never went away after the pregnancy :crying: that doesn't sound good!

Okay... sounds nasty but during pregnancy it was the nipples that decided to go all hairy on me... (Tweezers are a LIFE saving tool) and my belly button.... GOOD NEWS... No more dark hairs... as soon as I gave birth to DS everything went back to normal..

I am VERY Grateful for that!!

Haha just reading this thread imbarresses me my bikini line hasnt been waxed/shaved for a while in my 1st pregnancy i never did it i was way too tired and sick all the time.I always wax my eyebrows and shave under my arms and my legs get shaved about 1nce or twice a week.I am Italian to and am very hairy my hair grows so quick and when im pregnant i get a snail trail too i just shave or wax it.After giving birth my hair didnt grow as quick it went back to normal but im pregnant again and its like a forest again.I also get small black hairs on my chin i just pluck them when they come through. And yes it does feel GOOD once u get the time to shave/wax i feel like a woman again.
