Hi all - I am having a pinata for my DD's party and I am just wondering what you would put in it?? It will be mid December so I think I need to stay away from chocolates! Kids ages will range from 1 to 9. Any suggestions?? Thanks :)

Put in some party blowers, balloons, maybe some seseme snacks (they are wrapped) some little apricot snacks (packs of 12 wrapped) packs of crayons or something?

I would actually stay away from anything that makes noise. The last birthday party DD and I went to they had whistles in the piņata. 30 kids, aged 3-5 with whistles was... I don't even think I need to say it.

LMAO but isnt that what parties are all about LOL
I'd put in wrapped lollies too. Even though kids don't care and will eat them anyway, once they hit the ground they'll pick up dirt and stuff. What about LCM's, those hard bon bon lollies that won't melt, lolly pops, or you could make up little lolly bags.

Hey thanks for some great ideas - yes, I was definitely going for "wrapped" things, so bon bon lollies, lolly pops, and some of the healthier options will be great. Balloons etc are a great idea too.

I had a pinata for DS birthday.
In it I put, wrapped lollies, wrapped chocolate coins, funny drinking straws, small bottles of bubbles and small bouncy balls and some cheap bangles and rings for the girls. Got all of it at crazy clarks.

Im having a pinata at DS's b'day this year. Im putting bubble blowers, plastic animals (animal theme this year) mini kinders and confetti. DH just got himself a blower vac so I'll make sure it'll be put to use :D

Hi Roseythorn - did you have any "problems" with some kids missing out on certain things and others getting more things than others IYKWIM? That is, any tears from anyone who didn't get something!!

No punkbaby, healthy options are good :) but maybe if I go for a bit of a mixture that will keep everyone happy! I just want to try to avoid chocolate as it will melt!

No, I didn't have a problem with kids missing out, as we only had about 5 children there (there were more adults than kids). Since I only had a handful of kids I made sure there was 1 of everything for them.
If you don't mind a bit of mess...I put glitter in the one's I make (the chunky glitter not the fine stuff or it could get in the kids eyes)
When it busts the glitter goes everywhere and the sun catches it, it looks really pretty.
