False neg's

Just wondering how common it is (or if you've had) a false negative? You hear about false positives all the time - what about negatives.

Yes, you can. If you test too early or if your hormone levels are not quite high enough to detect.

Usually, if AF hasn't turned up, wait a few more days and hopefully it will tell you something.

Some brands of hpt are a bit dodgy, you can get evap lines aswell.I got one then AF arrived the same day... grrrrrr

I got false neg with both my boys up to 5 weeks. With DS2 I didn't know I was pg until I had a scan to check for PCO and the sonographer told us we were pg. This pg, I had a feint pos on day 27, my first testing day, but I used 2 brands and only one showed a BFP from the same urine sample.

Thanks ladies, the brand is forlife and i've had 4 neg's with it. BUT af is 5 days late which is very unlike me - although things have been a little skiew-if since mc in june. I have had "af like" pains for over a week now too :detective: . Think I might try a different brand.
