Hi

I am toilet training my 3yr old DD and she will do wees and poos in the potty but she wont do anything on the toilet. How do I get her to start using the toilet?

If we go to the shops I put her in pull ups because she wont go to the toilet. Should I bring the potty in the car? But then will she have to use it in the car park? And where would I empty it? I dont think I want to do that. What do others do when their kids are scared of the toilet?

Also she doesnt like wearing undies. She will wear them for about 5 minutes and then says they are going in her vagina and takes them off. I have brought a different brand today so hopefully she will keep those on. Any tips for making her keep her undies on?

Thanks
Natalie

I bought an insert that sits under the toilet seat and has a smaller 'seat' for littlies to sit on. As soon as we got that DD1 was happy to sit on the 'big' toilet. They also make some with steps going up that kind of sit above/over the toilet. Big W always seems to have some type of both in stock.

I let DD choose her own knickers when we first bought them and have never had any issues with her wearing them. On the days she doesn't want to wear them, I don't make her - she goes 'nudie bum' as she calls it!! I was a bit stricter on this when she first started going to the toilet but can't remember her ever actually taking them off herself.
