Confused....

Hi everyone,

I am not sure what to make of this.....I weaned Emily about 4 weeks ago and began spotting shortly afterwards. I started temping at that time as I was keen to find out if I was getting my fertility back and noticed that 14 days later I had a temp rise. My chart went triphasic 3 days ago (something that happened in my last pregnancy) and have ferning on the maybebaby. I did a hpt y'day morning but it was neg. I should be due for AF early next week as I am 8 DPO and used to have a 14 day luteal phase...could I be pregnant or can the maybebaby give false positives?

Hey Clarie- sound quite confusing, no wonder youre not sure, I was really confused this pregnancy to as i got a bfn on 10dpo then a very very faint postive on 13dpo (it looked more like an evaporation line) then i finally got me bpf 14dpo so if you work out 4 days before your af is due and do a hpt you may get a lovely suprise. Ive never used maybe baby before so i cant help you with that part, but i really hope you get a bfp!!! What day is your af due?

Thanks for replying - its all really wierd esp as I haven't had a cycle since August 2004 when I got preg! Anyway I defs don't think I am pregnant again which in a way is a relief - I didn't think it would be, but the possibility of an 18 month gap suddenly became a possible reality and it was a bit frightening!! I should get AF on Friday if I am back to my regular 28 day cycles as I am pretty certain I O'ed on Valentines Day.

I think the ferning on the maybebaby might have just been a fluke.....

Its definitely possible to get false positives on a Maybe Baby. After I finished breastfeeding mine showed heavy ferning every single day of the month which I later found out was due to having a very high estrogen level. However in saying this you can also get ferning on your Maybe Baby when you are pregnant too - because your estrogen level stays high instead of dropping with AF.

It sounds like you definitely O'd this month - 8DPO is pretty early to detect pregnancy so I would wait a couple more days and test again if AF doesnt come.

Dont stress:) An 18month age gap is totally do-able!
