My DD is approaching 4 months and is b/fed.
For the last month she has been feeding every 2 hours all day... sometimes even an hour and 45min. She doesnt snack - she drains both sides and always looks content.
But im getting bit tired of the frequency, boobies are getting bit sore and when she was newborn it was 3 hourly now its 2!!
Will this change??! Tried gradually holding off 15min but no go.
Is this normal??!

it's within the range of 'normal', my DD is the same except i started solids at 4months and that gives me a few better nights now and then. also if we are out she might go 3 hours between feeds in daytime as she is so distracted by things and having fun. is your bub very alert, mostly active when awake (i.e a real wriggler, jiggler, kicker & roller), moving a lot and growing fast? that's what makes starfish so ravenous we reckon. she started her mumma binge at 12 weeks and is 5 months on wednesday. we got our gp's ok to start solids early.
note -- i am not recommending anyone else do so unless they also get it checked out by someone they trust. and it is NOT a reason to cut back on BF or refuse a feed, just a supplement to what bubs asks for and needs.
Yup. Normal. She could be going through a growth spurt, and things may settle down again in a little while...or not!
Solids really are not recommended until after 6 months of age due to gut immaturity, and even them should only be for experimentation, breastmilk forming the mainstay of the diet until at least 12 months of age.
All the best, this too shall pass. :)
My DD did this at the same age. It was defintely a growth spurt and passed within a few days. Don't rush into the solids just yet, offer the breast more and I am sure it will pass (only to resurface in a few months when the next spurt happens!)

My dd usully feeds every 2 hours during the day. Some times she can go for longer without a feed, say 3 maybe even 4 hours.
But most days it's around 2 hours. She has been like this I think from about 10 weeks.
She isn't the biggest baby in the world, so I figure the more milk I can get into her the better:)

DD did that for a long time. Even when she was on 3 solid meals a day, she would still have a breastfeed every 2 hours through the day. She never woke through the night though so I didn't mind being her human dummy through the day. In fact I lauged at the CHN when she told me DD was using me like a dummy because to me, the breast came first, and babies use a dummy in place of the real thing, not the other way around! LOL!!! btw she was never given a dummy, I'd rather she had the real thing.
