A Friend Of Mine Just Told Me That She Is Pregnant. She Is Very Concerned Though Because She Has Endometriosis And In The Past She Has Had 2 Miscarriages. She Is Currently Eight Weeks Pregnant. Just Wondering If There Is Anyone Who Has Been Through Something Similar That May Be Able To Give Her Some Support, Or Anything...

I am not sure of the implications once you are pregnant....

Endometriosis is essentially where endometrial tissue (that lines the uterus) grows outside your uteris. The symptoms are different in different women, but in most vases (>90%) infertility results. Ovarian cysts are quite common also. Treatment is generally to have a laproscopy and have it surgically removed (scraped). Once this has been done, you can normally fall pg again (until the endometriosis returns).

I had severe endometriosis, had the surgery and fell pg within 4 months. I had no problems with the pregnancy.

My FS said not to wait too long if I wanted another bub as I have some other fertility issues too, so I have since been back and had the surgery again (endometriosis had returned) and am hoping to fall pg again.

BUT - I never had a m/c .... and my endo was treated before I fell pg.

Did your friend have laproscopic surgery? If so, I am not sure if the endo will have contributed to the m/c's or not.

Anyway - I wish her best of luck for this pregnancy.

I had endometriosis quite bad, had surgery etc. Was told I would have alot of trouble conceiveing........I didn't. Feel pg withing 3 months of trying with my daughter & had a great pg & birth. I'm now almost 37 weeks pg with my 2nd bub......again, no problems.

My cousin also had it severly.......was told she'd never have kids. They couldn't have been more wrong. She has 7yr old twins, a 5, 3 & 1 yr old :D:D
