food steamers

hi i hope i have posted this in the right spot! we are thinking of getting a food steamer but dont know which one etc. does anyone have one or know anything about them. i would to know plz. :hugs:

I have a prima one. I think i got it from big w. I dont think its a well known brand but it does a great job steaming vegies for ds.

We have a Kambrook Ezy Steam. MIL bought it for us for Christmas.....we have used it maybe 3 times.

Takes a lot longer to steam vegies in that then on the stove......much easier to put them on the stove for us anyway.

We bought a couple of those rather cheap bamboo steamers from Woolies or Coles or something like that. The ones you just put on top of a saucepan on the stove.
We love them and use them all the time. Easy to clean, quick and simple, easy to store away and if anything does happen - very cheap to replace!

We were given one (I think it was a Kmart one- Homemaker brand or something like that). Anyway, it took ages to cook the veggies, i hated it. Then one day it didn't switch itself off like it should have and it just kept on cooking till the contents and the element started to burn. Straight in the bin and now we use a saucepan and steamer, unless we are in a hurry and the microwave oes the trick!
