what is a large family?

i have 3 boys oldest 3 1/2 and youngest 8mths, but i wouldn't consider i have a large family.

Mind due you should see my plans to expand lol

anyways just wondering at what point you have a large family, or is it more a feeling?

i got the merria in so no kids for 5years, but i cant see it staying in any longer than another couple of months, im ready to have more,

These days, 3 is considered large! As a kid, 3 was the norm for most families, but these days it seems to be not so common... Most people I know have the "requisite" two, but I have a couple of friends with more, and we are planning at least two more (and don't we get strange looks for that?!)

And I never realised until bub was born, but even the government considers 3 large - we get a "large family" supplement from centrelink!

centrelink calls a large family 3 or more, but to me its 4 or more ;)

I'm about to have no4 and it's only now that I would consider us to have a "large family".

To me up to 3 kids is pretty normal, or average, so I guess maybe from 4 up, although I don't really consider mine to be that big, so maybe from 5 upwards.

i would say 4+ is large.. im preg with no 5 and i do get strange looks and funny comments..

even more so when i look after my 2 nieces and 1 nefew 4 days a week full time.,. i often have the 7 children with me and funny enough 1 niece and nefew look like they could be mine so imagine the looks there. especially when they're all trailing behind me at the supermarket.. like mother duck and her ducklings..lol

That's what I consider a large family:smiliedance:

My theory is if you can't fit all your kids in a sedan type vehicle and need to upgrade - then you can count yourself as a large family.

(I think i only think that cause we never had a sedan when I was a kid. The big van embarrassed me back then).:laughing:

Hi every 1, I have always said that 4/5/6 kids is large, then 7/8 is extra large, and anything above that is time for a nervous breakdown like me.:laughing:;)

I think 5 or more...I have 8 so am I classed as EXTRA Large LOL
