Anyone?
I have just enrolled my DD2 for prep '08, but not without a fight to get her in!! Because we moved outside the "catchment" area, they said no no no. :hair: Even with a sibling at the school, she wasn't allowed to go there. BUT, in this case it was not what you know but who, a little conversation with district office, and within a week she was enrolled!!:smiliedance: I hate the school, but it is better than the school that is in our area!
Ahh the stress has eased!!:reindeer:

My DS1 is enrolled at the local Catholic school to start prep next year. We had a little bit of drama getting him in because they only take 50 preps and we live right on the boundary. I didn't want him going to the local state school because his cousins go there and I really don't want to see my SIL everyday.

DS had his first orientation day yesterday for kindergarten. He goes every Wednesday for 4 weeks for a couple of hours. He really needs to go and is sooo ready.

Yes, we too have enrolled for next year...I can't wait, I mean he can't wait LOL
We chose private as we don't like the other options in our area, we did like one public school but we were out of the catchment area too. :)
Gee that is a bit tough, our school has a policy that siblings out of catchment are a priority for enrolment.
So glad you got your dd in. Prep is great, she will love it:)

Our school has the policy also that if your not in the catchment area, but have a sibling in the school, they can go.
If it was the old system (preschool 5day f/n) My middle DD would be going, but as she was an October babe, she wont be in prep until 2009! :hair: (shes very much ready for it too!) - have been told also by her kindy teacher :D

:smiliedance: To all the schoolies!!
I am having problems now trying to find after school care for them :hair: I have put my name down on five childcare centre lists (if that is even worth anything)
Why can't anything be easy?:(
My son had Orientation for 4 days in a row!
I enrolled him back in April.

We've got a parent meeting coming up soon at our school then we get to choose which dates we want for orientation days. I think we get to choose 2 sessions from 6 different times which is great because none of the kids should have to miss kinder.
My DS is really excited about school and he's well and truly ready for it. We're at a point where he is driving me crazy and needs the stimulation.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the "tests" are my DD has to do for prep. Apparently I will find out more at the information night coming up on 11/12 which I have to attend without kids... not easy when DH does FIFO during the week and have no support network here in Townsville:hair:.
Just dont want to look totally green although I am to all this school caper, I didnt even know what hours she was meant to attend!!

DS is starting 08 and we are both very excited. I am really looking forward to all the Mums stuff at the school. We are really happy with the school, the more we see, the more we love it and apparently the teacher that he is having is everyones favourite at the school, all parents have commented. There will be only 15 in the class, and its a Catholic School about 200m away from our front door. Uniform is very nice and I used to go to this same school when I was a kid. At least 5 teachers I can think of were there when I was there, and one of my best friends is a teacher there. Cant wait!
