I don't see there being any problem - just allow him time to adjust. As long as it isn't too hot either. My son was 3 to 4 months old when we took him in our little knee deep blow up pool during the hot weather, but it was cold water.

Our aim was to allow him to get used to the temperature change, and to take him out before he started crying - therefore didn't associate the pool with bad times.

Don't force him into it. Connor maybe took 3 times to get the idea of what it was about - and then when we had 43 degrees - he squealed with delight.

Our babies have been in our pool since they where 6 months, they love it, squeal with delight. DD even does this cute froggy swim, with us holding her under the tummy.
Not taking them to swimming lessons til next summer though as apparently they dont learn anything in the first year anyway, its just all about getting used to it which they have done.

I just took Indy (almost 3 months) into a indoor heated pool.

I wasnt planning to do it for a while. but it went well. temp was good. i was just real careful (Especially not to get any splashed into her mouth)

She didnt hate it but she didnt love it either (nothing impresses this kid lol)

Shes never been overly keen on bath time, so thats prolly all she was thinking "oh great, its just a really really big bath!

I was also wanting to take my little man swimming, but wasnt sure. so i rang the CHN and she said it was fine just not to let water get in his mouth, eyes, or any part of his head for that matter. so i took my little man (2 months) for his first swim in an indoor heated pool, he absolutly loved it!! it was very cute.:p

Probably not a huge issue as it's your own private indoor pool, but wash off sweat first and don't let bub pee in the pool, urine reacts with chlorine to make a pretty nasty toxin. http://www.google.com/search?q=asthma+indoor+pool

A french company called splash about make neoprene baby wet suits, called baby wraps or baby snugs for younger babies. Keeps them nice and toasty warm!

they are sold by a number of companies in the UK, but have a look at www.kidsbits.co.uk, under the swim section I think

we take ozzy to the local pool (heated and indoors) and he just loves it. he has recently learned how to splash mummy :devil6: we've taken him to a few pools, including unheated ones at friend's places and he just loves it - just keep their head above the water!! (sounds obvious but grandma accidentally dunked him last week...)

hope your little one enjoys it :)

my dd was in my parents pool from about 6 weeks old. she has always loved the bath and even fell asleep one day in our arms in the pool. she is starting now at 7 months to put her head under water and even close the eyes and hold her breath when we pick her up and hold her in the air before splashing back down into the pool. :smiliedance:
