Current research indicates that new and first time fathers are at risk for developing symptoms of anxiety and depression. A recent national media release about a study being conducted in Adelaide on the experiences of first time fathers with postnatal depression has received a great response from the public! Many fathers have acknowledged the possibility of men experiencing depression during the antenatal period and the postnatal period. If you are a first time father and you think you may be experiencing anxiety or depression then please contact karina.bria@adelaide.edu.au for more information about participating in the first time fathers with depression study.
