I'm 21 weeks pregnant and for the last few days have been getting really bad headaches.
The pain is behind my eyes. I know that headaches during pregnancy can be caused by hormones and extra blood being pumped around. Just wondering though, does anyone know what a headache behind the eyes is usually caused by? Tired? Stressed? Not drinking enough water?
The only way I can get rid of the headaches is to go to sleep, which is not usually an option with a 15 month old to run around after.

Thanks very much will try to drink more water and see if it helps. Also I didnt know you could take panadeine while preggers. I had tried panadols but given up as they do bugger all. Eventually go away on there own after about an hour but boy do they hurt. Feels like my eye is pushing through my head:banghead: . I never got them with my other two but third times the charm hey. Thanks alot for the help girls.

I had the headaches too.. 1) Due to blood pressure - which then needed monitoring
2) Got my eyes tested - now wear glasses
3) Midwife said thru the 2nd trimester till about 28weeks you get hormonal headaches... I drank water like fish lol  This is what i went thru anyway my blood pressure is now stablized and now i only where the glasses if my eyes are really straining to focus..
Good Luck and hope this may have shed a little light anyway :fingerscrossed: :hugs:

FOr me headaches and migraines were a sign of high BP. I would keep an eye on your blood pressure. If I took soem mild headache tablets and it didn't go away I would callt he hospital only that past pregnancies I had pre-eclampsia.
Don't know if you have this though.
i suffer normally from headaches and migrains. during my first preg (7 years ago), I didnt even get one headache - this time around its headaches everyday and a dramatic increase in migrains! There is no underlying problem for me> I was just told that migraines and headaches either go away totally in pregnancy or increase..... guess I just got unlucky this time.... but you could check for eye strain with using yr computer screen maybe that could be a factor?
