hi girls
can anyone help me ? I have been invited to a night out where there will be alot of loud music (just the usual nightclub really) and was wondering if the loud music can effect my baby's hearing in my pregnant state? I have been told or i read somewhere that this can happen
What do you know?:smiliedance:

The short answer to the question is no. IT can't deafen bubs.

The baby is living inside a huge sac of liquid which helps absorb sounds and bumps it may receive. This is to protect the baby while it develops and grows.

I would actually be more concerned about second-hand cigarette smoke, but you should be pretty right. I think most laws these days prohibit smoking in bars and pubs.

Have fun!!

Hi
I did go to a party when I was preggers and the band was so loud I felt like my bub was going to jump out and run away:laughing:
The funny thing is when I was around loud music my tummy was still and bub seemed calm and peaceful,I have not heard that loud music can deafen a bub while in the womb but you could ask your Dr if your worried.
My DD is a music freak & she can grove:smiliedance:

I'd be more concerned over your own hearing

I agree - the music would be fine... I too would be more worried about the smoke (I hope you stayed sober too :) ) ... otherwise enjoy your night out!! once bubs arrives it is harder to get out of the house!!

I actually went out a few times with my first pregnancy with of course no drinking and smoking although I worried if a fight broke out that I would be in the way. Other than that I say go for it and have fun;)

I went to the drag racing when I was about 7mths preg with DS...stood right at the start line...DS hears fine :D
If I'm talking about going out somewhere he hears me no matter where he is in the house/yard and comes running to give his opinion...or to tell me what he wants me to bring home for him:rolleyes:

I went to a concert when I was preg & my bub has problems with her hearing.

The problem I had with going to these events was that she would jump around to the music the whole time! It drove me nuts & I ended up very sore by the end of the night!

I used to go clubbing all the time but once I became pregnant I couldn't cope with the thump thump. I was/am a techno head so the doff doff is pretty full on.

There was one time I just had to go and see Moby at one of our local night clubs and I was about 4 mths pregnant. The whole time we were there I felt like I was going to fall over it totally unbalanced me. Who knows why. We ended up leaving as I felt like I was going to throw up.

This happened again with my second pregnancy when I went out for a hens night at a bar. I'm just not cut out for it when I'm pregnant.

One warning and don't take this as gospel, one of the girls that worked in a night club that I did bookkeeping for became pregnant and lost it at about 10 weeks and her doctor told her that all the doff doff may not have been very helpful.

Now in saying all that, I don't mean to scare you, I just wanted to tell you of my experience.

I say get out there and have fun because it becomes alot harder to do once bubs arrives.

So :yelclap: :smiliedance: :smiliedance:
