I just want to share my excitement with you all. As of yesterday I officially started my birthing doula course through CBI - Childbirth International. :smiliedance:

Ever since the age of 16 I've always wanted to be a midwife but fell short due to starting my own family with children at the age of 19. I'm now done and dusted, my family is now complete and content with that decision, a very hard decision at that.

Nowadays I'm extremely busy being a SAHM with 4 children that I feel that there is no way I could do midwifery, not just yet anyway. So the next best thing is being a doula where the time frames aren't so strenuous on my family and myself, a doula is a much better option all round.

Being a doula I will strive to give and make sure that mothers and mothers-to-be get the birth they are aiming for and I will lift heavens high that they walk away feeling empowered after their birth. I promise to be there for them emotionally and physically and support every choice they make and if need be I will be their voice and backbone.

I hope to extend my qualifications further down the track to childbirth educator and possibly lactation counsellor. I believe that a good support person is their for the birthing mother and family before the birth, during the birth and of course after the birth - postpartum.

Thanks for reading. I hope to chat to all you other doulas in a short time to come. :) :smiliedance:
