Hi

I am 12 weeks pregnant and I work at Centrelink!!!

Usually it is fine and for most of it we have lovely customers just faced with difficult situations.

I usually find that I can deal with the badies really well - until now ( that I am pregnant )

Already 5 times since being pregnant I have been verbally abused, threatned and had sruff thrown across the table. I think that I am alright but about 15 mins later I start to shake and I have considerable pain in the stomach.

I am worried it is taking it's toll on my body.

Anyways I was thinking of discussing it with the boss. We are so short staffed and I only work 3 days a week but I can't take any risk being pregnant - what do you think?

Mmm... pregancy hormaones! :hair:
I felt pre menstrual all the time up until the second trimester, but then it passed. Try to be patient with your moods im sure that in time they will settle down.

I think its a good idea that you do speak to your boss and let them know how you are feeling at the moment, im sure they dont want you snapping at people and its not good for you either.

Maybe you could do another role for a little while or hopefully they can come up with a solution. Best of luck and a hug to you:hugs:

I worked at Centrelink while pregnant with DD1. I was raising debts and doing the associated interviews. I spent a lot of time repeating - I will be calm, I don't care, I will be calm, I don't care - and breathing really really slowly.

I understand what you are saying though. I hated it anytime someone would arc up and I would start to feel my blood pressure rise, after a couple of instances I just started to give a warning to the person to settle down and then if they didn't I would either walk away or hang up the phone.

I had my manager's support in doing this.
