hi I was just wondering if i could get an idea of other babies routines for the day. When is wake time, sleep time, feed time etc. I have a bubs who is almost 6 months and loves changing the routine every 4-5 days.Just when i think this works he decides he doesn't like it

would love to hear from mums with bubs in a similar age frame
Thanks

DD1 would do this to me all the time. I'd get so frustrated because I thought "great she's going to sleep soon, I can do this" and she wouldn't have her nap then.

With #2 I just let it go with the flow and funnily, DD2 has stuck to her routines better than #1.

DD2 wakes up somewhere between 5.30 and 7am, is usually awake for roughly 3.5hrs, then a nap - this can be anywhere between 30 min to 1.5hours. THen another 3.5hr wake, then another nap, then usually around 8.30pm she's ready for her bed bottle and will sleep thru most nights.

I know the times don't quite add up, but that's roughly what she follows and I just go along with it.

Hiya....

my son is 5 months and 1 week...lol..nearly 6 months.

My routine has always been feed/wake/sleep.

My son wakes between 6 and 7am. At this age they should be doing about 2 hrs of wake time...so i do 2 up then 2 down(sleep).

6.30-feed
7-8.30- wake time
8.30-10.30- sleep
10.30- feed
11- 12.30- wake time
12.30-2.30- sleep time.
2.30- feed
3-4.30- wake time (soon to be 3-7)
4.30-5.30- sleep (he is starting to drop this sleep...so he only does about 45 mins).
5.30-6.30- wake time
6.30- feed
7- bed- sleep

It's like clock work and has been since i introduced routines to him when we first brought him home. Hope this helps.

Mrs Little.

Hi

ds is only 4 1/2 months and his routne changes most days as well. I work on feed/play/sleep.

He generally wakes anytime between 4.30 and 6.30 am, it depends on how much he has slept the day before.

Once awake he feeds, after 1 hour he has solids then palys for the next hour or so then it's back alseep for around 45 mins -2 hrs. If he is having a growth spurt it may be longer.

He then wakes feeds again and usually is back down within 11/2 hours. this continues for the rest of the day until around 4.30 where he has a bath, bottle, story and then I put him to sleep. he sleps then until I pick him up at around 9 - 9.30 and feed him then he is down for the night.

Oh he has a second solids meal sometime in the arvo usually after the 1 - 2.00pm feed.

Each bub is different, and it depends on the number fo feed, what he is eating ect as to what they do. I have found that since introducing the morning solids he is settleing better and sleeping a bit longer in the morning. Ds is still feeding six times a day.

I have found the easiest thing to do is go with the flow. If you try to push them into a routine then fight it even harder. He will find his rotuine, when he is ready.

good luck

I do the tresillian toddler routine (9months and on) and it works really well for my two. I tried not to have a routine and it was a disaster.

7am BF then breakfast

9.45 sleep til 11.15

12 lunch then BF

1.45 sleep til 3.15/3.30

5 pm dinner
then bath straight after

6.15 BF then
6.45 bed

all in between is playtime!!

they are so into the routine now that they just naturally get sleepy around there sleeptimes so there isnt much protest anymore:yelclap:

I have my little girl on a routine because it works out well for me. The only thing I can't really control is what time she wakes up (that said, she gets up at about the same time every morning anyway), and what times she has naps...but food-wise, and bed-time wise, I control everything.

I like to have a schedule because it means that she gets all of her meals throughout the day, without me forgetting one. I make sure she has 3 solid meals, and 2 bottles formula. If I didn't have it on a time-based schedule, I think I'd just forget how many she has. Sometimes she decides that she's not going to eat very much...and that's fine. But I know that I have attempted to feed her. If she wants some more later (having refused an earlier meal), then I'll try it then. Usually though, she doesn't.

My DDs awake hours are probably different to most peoples...I'm not a morning person, and my DP works late, so in order to see him when he gets home and still get adequate sleep, I put DD to bed at 10.30pm. She gets up around 9-10am (yep...she sleeps for 12 hours...a lazy little thing I know...but she doesn't nap very much during the day).
