Well DD2 has been threatening to walk and cut a tooth for a little while now so when I rang her Nana and Great-nana and said in my most excited voice 'guess what Sienna did today?' both responses were...

'took a step'
'no'
'cut a tooth'
'no'
'then what?'

Drank out of a straw!!!

It took DD1 nearly 2 years to master this feat but DD2 at 9 months was sharing a drink - through a straw - with DD1 while hanging out in the backyard this morning. I thought she was just chewing on the straw but then saw her swallow and dribble juice down her chin.

I am so impressed by my little girl - next step is to get rid of bottles now she has figured out another way to get fluid in that mouth of hers!! I might give her a while to get the hang of it first, of course!!

its so exciting hey ! do u get them plastic cups with the soft straws??
thats what i used to use for the other kids when they were young. i dont remember how old they were when they mastered the straw thing though :rolleyes:

Yep rubber straw in a plastic cup and no spill too :yelclap:

It is funny the little things we get excited about. DP thinks I am crazy - his reaction was - everyone can drink through a straw, its just something your born knowing how to do!! Well actually honey, its like everything else, they have to learn it :banghead: He does, however, like that I am excited about it :rolleyes:

hehe oh well.

the things they say and do!

yesterday i ducked down to the shops, and left bub with DF. when i got back, they were both in the front yard waiting for me to get back, and DF had practically tied a towel around her bum (over cloth nappy) as he couldnt change her! :rolleyes:
