Well well well where do I start, this is going to be very long

Sept the 21st was like any other friday, was getting the odd contraction/wind pain (was hard to tell the difference) but that wasn't unusuall for me to have pains, so friday night, was doing my usuall thing, playing online bingo with my friends, complaining about wind pain etc, and winning lots of points in bingo, I decided to go to bed about 12am (might have been a bit later than that) I fell straight to sleep just about, must have been so tired. Anyways I woke up a hour and a half later thinking that I might have pee'd myself, cause I felt a gush of something, so up I get, and head to the loo, I sit of the toilet and do #1's then I stand up and I just manage to pull my pants up before another gush came out, I knew then that it was my waters, so off I trot to tell DH what had just happened, then rang the hosp who told me to go straight in there cause going by their dates I was only 35wks and 5 days,

So I finnish packing my bags, get DS up and then finally head to the hosp at around 2.30am, we finally get up to the labour ward and the m/w allocated to us quickly came and asked me lots of questions and then asked to have a look at my pad that I brought in with me (yes a weird thing to do but after the hosp not believing me about my waters breaking last year I thought I would bring in the evidence this time) she then took a good wiff of my pad and said yip definatly waters :o

next thing the OB that was on that night came in, she was a lovely lady, asked me lots of questions then wanted to do a internal and swab me for this that and the other then they put me on the monitor, bubs was doing well, so that was good,

about a hour later another OB came in to have a chat with me, they are doing a trial at the hosp that i went to , where they flipped a coin with people that waters had broken but never went into labour before 36wks, anyways one side of the coin was induction, the other leave be and wait, they gave me a choice wether I wanted to do this trial or not, so had a bit of thinking quickly cause they needed to start induction within 24hrs if i chose to flip the coin. we decided not to go with the trial, so then they admitted me to keep a eye on me, I finally got up to the maternity ward at about 5am

the following day another OB came in to have a chat, we talked about the pro's and cons of everything with me staying in one peice or induction if needed, he left me to decided wether I wanted to be induced or not, and after listening to the OB, chatting to DH, talking to the staff in the SCN and with my hystory we decided to induce, the OB was happy with that and we decided to induce on the sunday morning

Sunday morning comes and my Doula arrives at 7am and so does DH, we were told that induction would start early unless they were really busy down in the labour ward, well they ended up being busy lol, and I didn't get down there till around 9.30 I think, and induction started about 10-10.30, as soon as I was hooked up to the drip contractions started, but were very mild, and what waters I had left started trickling away, because this wasn't my first labour they had the drip set on low, cause they didn't want to rush things lol, I was checked at 2pm to see how dilated I was and I had gone from 2cm cervix legnth to 2cm dialated, so that was pretty good, I was thinking cool in about 6 or so hours bubs will be here, 4hrs later I was checked again, and I had gone from 2cm dialated to 3cm dialated, we were all so gutted, I was in so much pain at this stage, we had gotten the m/w to put up the drip dosage so the contractions were 1min apart at that stage and were horribly painfull,

The m/w got the OB to come up and check things out, he said he would give me another 2hrs and see how I was progressing then, and if I hadn't done much better then it would be c-sect, while he was there I remember asking for a epi cause I was in so much pain and the gas was doing nothing, he said that would be fine, aparently when my contraction was over I said to him don't bother, then asked for a epi again as soon as another contraction hit  I would've kept saying yes and no to a epi for ages if the doc hadn't have left lol,

so then I carried on, was on my feet as much as possible and when not on my feet I was on my knees leaning over the head of the bed (I have this theory that gravity helps lol), I remember asking DH at one stage what the time was and he said 7pm, it had only been a hour since the OB had been in, I was hoping that the 2hrs was up already lol, DH and my doula continued rubbing my back and talking to me, my doula was really good, always encouraging me to go on, even though I felt like I was going to die (was the most painfull labour ever)

at about 7.30 things started to chane for me, I started feeling funny and more out of it for some reason, all of a sudden I felt a pushing urge but for some reason I ignored it, then all of a sudden I felt the need to do #2's :o with that over and done with DH decided to go down stairs to have a smoke before the OB would come up and decide what was going to happen, DH had probably left the room about 10mins when all of a sudden I felt a burning sensation, I remember thinking to myself must be baby headding down but then quickly didn't think much more about it (was concentrating on breathing through the contractions) I didn't even tell my doula that was in the room what I was feeling, the next min all of a sudden my little princess arrived on the bed at approx 7.59pm, I told my doula (she had no idea cause I gave no indication that bubs was comming) that bubs was out (I had a nighty on so that was covering everything) she quickly grabbed bubs and helped me turn around and I held bubs while she called for the m/w etc by using the emergency button, next thing I know a million and one people ran into the room, DH arrived in the room the same time as everyone else, so he managed to cut the cord before they wisked her away, they quickly grab bubs to make sure she was alright, a SCN nurse looked after bubs while I was being looked at by the m/w, I was in so much shock, couldn't believe what had just happened, they checked her over and she was perfect, had a apgar at 5mins of 8 and at 8mins 8 they couldn't do the one min one cause no one was there

I was then able to have 5mins of skin to skin before they took bubs up to the SCN, she looked like a wrinkled prune lol, but a cute one lol, my m/w checked to make sure there were no tears or anything (and there wasn't) before I was allowed to get up and clean myself up so I could go up to see my little girl,

When I finally got up there I found her in a isolette, hooked up to monitors, she looked so tiny, I then found out she was only 2480grams (5lb 5oz) so tiny, she looked so small in there, we were told she was doing really well, so after about a hour up there I went to the ward and went to bed, when I got up in the morn to check on her she was having dificulty breathing and they were concidering sending us to brisbane cause they had a really bad night with her and didn't want her getting worse ( the hosp isn't equiped for babies that need assistance with breathing) before they decided to send her they thought they would preform a procedure that will hopfully help her breath, it was putting some substance stuff down into her lungs to help her breath, it seamed to work a treat and she was breathing alot better she still had to be put on CPAP though for 5 days then on oxygen after that for a further week, we finally got to bring her home at 3wks and 2 days old, she is doing really well now, having a bit of feeding problems still but she's getting better

some days its hard to believe our little one has arrived finally, i'm so happy she's here, I feel so close to her even though the first week I couldn't even hold her, she's a real fighter this one
