Can you buy laminated minky???

Just wondered if you can buy laminated minky, like the blueberry nappies or do you have to use minky with a PUL layer.:detective:
Am keen to start sewing some pocket nappies and really want to use minky, so far on the net I can only find Minky on it's own and the patterns tell me to use Hidden layer of PUL.

Wild child laminates just about any type of fabric.
You could send them an email and ask.
You send them the fabric and they will laminate it for you.
Let me know if you want me to send you the link....

Thanks I had a look and it says they are sold out atm, bugger. It's also 18.50 a metre ouch!! maybe I should just consider doing the hidden layer thingy instead??!

A little bird told me that a certain shop may be going to get some Avlyn laminated. It's going to be expensive though. Hidden PUL layers give me the poos.:banghead:

OH I will have to watch out. I havent actualy started sewing anything yet so am somewhat a noivce, but I like that blueberry napps are laminated, you know nice and thin breathable and not bulky. I just think it would be nicer and easier to sew than having a layer of PUL underneath the minky, how does everyone else find it with sewing minky nappies?

minky is a bugga it slips and slides, not stetchy at all, but the slippery factor is definately there :yes:

It's allright if you use spray adhesive to bond the minkee to the PUL, not too bad :)

I made a minky pocket the other day using a hidden layer pf pul and it wasnt any harder then making just a pul one. I just added an extra step buy sewing the minkee to the pul first so that it didnt slip and slide around more work i know but worth it in the end. I use the tinytoosh pul and have found its nice and soft.

I made a minky with a hidden layer of PUL too. It's pretty easy because the minky is the inner layer when sewing. I just applied the snaps to the PUL and minky before sewing and it held it together nicely:yes:

Oh I didnt know the shop wasnt open everyday, I had better ring and find out the opening days then hadnt I?
Obviously didn't end up going today, so didnt waste any petrol driving there.
Well thanks for the replies, I am going to have a play with some PUL first then when I have the hang of it, buy some Minky and get sewing, yay cant wait!!
