Grommets

Hey there !!!

Hope that everyone is well. My little one has to have grommets put in her ear. Can anyone share any information with me???

Can you also please let me know if you have had to wait long if you went to a public hospital.

My DS2 had grommets put in at 22 months. When I called to make my app with the specialist, the receptionist told me to come in on a Tuesday and he'd operate the next day if need be. So our wait was around a month in a public hospital.

My DS always had infected ears and a runny nose and the grommets fixed that really quickly.

My daughter had 3 lots, including some 'long term ones' (I think they had to remove them, done when she had her tonsils out)

We were staggered at how her hearing improved (felt like bad parents for not noticing her lack of hearing, but kids are good at 'improvising') She would ask what all the noises were, like the bath running in the next room! When she had her second lot at 5 (first at 2) she had headaches for a week as she found the classroom too noisy at school!

Only pain was swimming and showering, having to keep the water out of her ears.

We had it done private so can't help with that
