View Full Version : What will we do.. where will we go?

I'm sure we've all thought about it, but don't want to face the inevitable.

What happens when our babies are TT'ed and no more babies are coming down the shoot.

What will we do when we dont have nappies to talk about? What will happen to all our cloth nappy buddies?
Will our sewing machines become a home for cockroaches in the back corner of the garage?

I am thinking perhaps I could do an "adopt a bum" program. A bit like World Vision but instead of "Just a dollar a day" We could send a nappy a month.

Or maybe I should just wait until Toadlet gets some poor girl knocked up at 16 years old.

I can't even think about this (sob!)...maybe I'll spend my spare time going to the gym like I used to, or hanging out with friends, or reading books, or sipping wine...or such things.

As long as your toadlet doesn't get my princess knocked up at 16 i'll be quite happy.

Cue spooky music, screen goes all wavy, flash forward to October 2023.

Toadlet, toalet's girlfriend, toadlet's parents and girlfriend's parents, all sitting around in a lounge room looking slightly uncomfortable.

Toadlet: Mum, Dad, we've got some news. We're expecting a baby. I know we're only 16, but we're in love, and very excited about it.

Three of the four parents: OK. It will be a hard road for you both, but we'll support you. We love you, we're there to help you with whatever decision you make.... Hang on, where's Hollie?

Hollie (skipping around the backgarden laughing): Woohooooo!!!!!!!! Hooray!!!!! I'm so delighted!! Yippee!!!!

Toadlet: I'm pleased you're happy for us mum.

Hollie: I'm not happy for you, don't be silly, I'm just so happy because I can make more nappies!!! Nappies nappies nappies!!!!!!!!!!

--------------------------

Is that how you're picturing it?

I don't want to think about it.

Since D will be our last I plan on having her in cloth nappies for as long as possible. Hell!! I'll even start buying adult size cloth nappies for her in funky designs. Now there's a thought!! Hmm.. not one that would work unfortunately, darn!

I'd definitely be in the adopt-a-widdle-bum scheme.

Bron,

More likely that i will already have the nappies made and stored in a shed (or warehouse) ready for the day he tells me. In both girl and boy colours just incase.

Karni, I'm secretly hoping toadlet has a bed wetting issue and I'll have to tell his high school teacher that he is wearing nappies for "medical reasons"

I don't want to think about when that happens.

Hmm perhaps by then my sister will be having babies and I can get her using cloth....... :fingerscrossed:

Its a sad thing I'm afraid, some of the mums on my 'due in' thread have started talking about toilet training but I'm just ignoring it!

Eep!

Well SIL hasn't had any babies yet, so hopefully she will have some before Owen is outta nappies. Problem solved! lol

Otherwise I might have to keep having babies til my babies have babies and then I will be set for life! lol

Too funny LT. I just read out your title to my hubby and he Huffed and then said it will help the bank balance!

Thankfully my latest is only 2 months. If anyone out there wants to buy her nappies or make her nappies I will accept them and take photos for you!

BRING IT ON.........................

I am fed up with nappies. I have had one child in nappies at some stage for the last six or so years. The last two years in cloth.

I look forward to so many things, not stalking the post man, wishing that people would notice the cloth nappy, nappy nazis from other sites, no longer having to lie to DH about where the new nappy came from etc. etc.

The only thing I am going to miss is the hyenaing. There is no way I could ever get the same thrill going after a cloth pad.

I am thinking that too actually with all the stuff i make for my kids but i figure now i have mastered it (not nappies clothing) i can get it out there and put it out on other babies and they dont look like clones then LOL or look like mine at least they are OAK so be nice to see them on other bubs for a change instead of mine all the time

I think this is why ive been so lax in TT'ing Boof. Whilst he is somewhat getting there im not pushing the idea either :o

I think i shall now go cry somewhere about the day of not having anymore cloth nappies :crying:

It will be really odd when I don't have a babe in nappies... I have always had a child in nappies over the past nine years.

TT might be more successful if you actually show him what and where the toilet is.

I've converted my sister to try mcn's when she has babies and she's planning on 4! So lots more years of nappy making for me:smiliedance:

Hopefully she'll have a girl in there somewhere so I can sew some girly ones too:fingerscrossed:
