ferning and bleeding at the same time?

Hi everyone

I am just plain confused? I have had full ferning for three days and started bleeding quite heavily today. I am confused! My temps didn't register ovulation on Fertility Friend for that cycle (this is my first after m/c). Any thoughts people?

My first thought would be that maybe your hormones are still setting down after your MC giving false fern readings.

I used to use the maybe baby too and had constant heavy ferning every single day of the month - it honestly never changed. I asked my Doc about it and after a blood test they found my level of estrogen ( being the hormone that causes the ferning around O) was EXTREMELY high - way up past what it is normally. Hence I couldnt use my maybe baby anymore as the readings just werent accurate.

Have you only just had ferning the last three days and no other time this month? Did you have a temp drop when the ferning started?

Thanks Rik for replying :) . From the start of my m/c until yesterday was 63 days, I had an infection and bleeding didn't stop for about 5 weeks. Since that stopped I bought maybe baby and had some readings with no ferning at all. Then it started ferning fully on Monday (no partials) and I thought great, I'm ovulating! ;) Then I started bleeding, what a surprise! :( My chart is at

if you want to have a look. I thought any day FF would say I had O'd! My ferning has now stopped. Id be interested in what you think :)

Thanks for letting me check out your link Tracey:) Makes it so much easier to comment. It certainly looks like you started O'ing as you had quite a temp rise too the very day before AF came along. Its like you O'd but then completely missed out on the leutal phase? Very strange - certainly got me. I did heaps of research but cant seem to find anything relevant as to why you should fern and bleed together. Frustrating hey?:rolleyes:

I would honestly think that you body is just still out of whack since your M/C and perhaps this AF should set things right for you now. I cant beleive how long you bled for - you must have just been exhausted by the time that finished - and lost a fair bit of iron too? Poor love - I hope this month corrects itself for you and the next BFP is right around the corner:)
