Hi all

Futher to my other post - i am not sure what to do.
Eve doesnt ever ask to be fed, i just feed her when it is about her time.
The thing is that even if its bed time she wont ask or motion or anything for milk...she will just curl up and start to sleep. Then I say our 'milk' word and she gets all excited and comes to me.

So i dont know if she is ready to give it up or not...she still wants the early morning feed and so do i for that matter...its the best way to get her back to sleep in the wee hours.

I dont know if I should just keep offering ???

Hi Mic :)

IMO I think what you're doing is wonderful, normal, perfect. If I were you, I'd continue offering.
My boy is nearly 18 months and while sometimes he does ask for it, I also offer it to him at specific times. My general BFing rules go like this:
0-24 months: offer often
24-36 months: Don't Offer, Don't Refuse
36-48 months: Don't Offer, Try to distract with first request, but don't refuse if he keeps asking for it
After 48 months: Bitty (our word for milk :)) is only for when the sun has gone to bed.

I base my opinion on the fact that the WHO recommends breastfeeding until 2 years minimum. But you should just do what you think is best for you and your baby :) Good luck!

Hi Queen :)

Thanks for you opinion, i really respect and value it.
I will keep on offering it at least for another 6 months or so, by then i guess she will be able to use her words and say yes or more likely NO! lol.

I just wasnt sure if i should start the
Don't Offer, Don't Refuse
but i still think she is so little in the grand scheme of things.

:babydust2: thanks again! :babydust2:
