Hi there

I need some advice regarding teething. My dd is 6 months today and for the last week or so is really struggling to settle for her sleeps and now her daytime naps are affected also. I can only put it down to teething, although she has no other signs this is the case.

When she goes down for sleeps, she now pushes her dummy to the side and uses her tongue to run over her bottom gum. I hope this makes sense. It looks like she is playing with something there as obviously she can feel something different.

Did anyones lo's do this right before teething or am I just wishful thinking. I hope she is teething, otherwise I have no answers for her recent restlessness.

Please, advice anyone.

It sounds like she could be. Have you got teething rings, or even a flannel that's been in the freezer for a little while? Something cold for her to chew on, that should give her some relief. There's homeopathic remedies that you could give her to take the pain away, in order to let her get to sleep easier. I can't think of them off the top of my head..... Brauer's Teething Relief? Something like that - I wasn't aware of them with Vally, so we just gave her panadol if she was really upset, or bonjela worked a treat with her. Bonjela doesn't work with every baby though.

Good luck! It's a trying time, but just remember that it doesn't last forever, even though it feels like it will! I used to get so tired and cranky - just when I thought we'd gotten past that early sleep-deprived stage! But then I would think about how hard this must be for her, and I wouldn't be so cranky about it.

You are a wonderful mummy so I know you'll get through this fine. I LOVE the little saying in your signature, made me all emotional!!!:)

Hi there queen, love it.

Isnt it a wonderful saying? I cried when I read it.

I will try the cold flannel and see if it helps. She is generally okay during the day, it's only her sleeps that she is playing up. If only she could tell me.

Thanks for your advice
