My DS was born 4 weeks ago with a huge varicose vein in his left arm (from shoulder to hand) and as a result his hand is being pumped with too much blood. The arm will grow bigger than his other arm unless something is done.
Last week we were told our baby has a heart murmur as well and that he may have a heart defect or it may just be his arm putting pressure on his heart.
We have an appointment next week to see the cardiologist but I am really worried. Has anybody else experienced this?
I am looking for answers, it's so hard waiting when it's your child's well being in question.
HUGS to you waiting for tests is the hardest isnt it, you guys are from perth arent you, the cardioologist at pmh if thats were you are going have all the eccho and heath ultrasound stuff in the office so they wil be able to tel you whats hapning with the heart then and there, well they did with us anyway, i hope that he doent have a heart problem that needs surgery poor baby
hugs to you and you family

Thank you ladies. :)
We are seeing a private guy....Dr D'orsogna, hopefully he is good. Just be glad when this is all sorted. Apparently there are no Dr's in WA who know what to do about bubs arm....
:hair:
 I haven't been through the same as you have but I do have a 4 year old that was born with a heart defect. He had surgery to correct it at 9 days old and he is now a healthy active little boy. If you want to know anything or just wanna chat you can pm me.
