Is there any mums in the Heidelberg area. Ive recently become single and would love to meet new people. My 3 yr old would love some friends to. I just worked out how to find Melbourne people on this site. I still dont know how to find old threads though? Do I just look through the forum pages? Im getting lost.

Hi, I am in Yallambie not far away and have a two & half year old daughter, Imogen. We love to make some friends and catch up. Whilst we are not new to the area, we haven't really had a chance to make a lot of friends and are expecting a new baby in November 06. You can email me if you want barricadesbrickwalls@hotmail.com

Hey Everyone,
What about catching up around the 18th of April in the morning at a local park, not sure of any really good one but am open to suggestions. There is a good one Between Watsonia Station and the shops or acroos the road from Warringal shopping centre (Rosanna RD, Heidelberg). Let me know what you think???

Hi Leigh either park sounds cool. O reven maybe at a playcentre like Greensboroughs Wriggle It. Seeing as the weather is starting to get a bit yuck.
What do you think?

Hi guys! I am in Greensborough and would love to catch up with some othere mums in the area. How much does teh indoor play centre cost? Is it possible to make it another date - too soon after easter for us. If not hopefully there will be another get together.
Look at me, barging in and wanting dates changed - how rude:rolleyes: but, really, please........

Mondays and Fridays are cool with me. Any date is fine with me. The wriggle it playcentre costs a bit but its pretty cool there. The fee varies on the age of the child. I have a 3 yo and a 1 yo it costs me about $13 to get in. So maybe we could even meet up at greensborough in the food court where maccas is near the play equipment. Im not sure about many indoorsy places. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Everyone,
Sure we can change date I was just floating an idea and i do agree witht the weather not being so fantastic that Wriggle it (www.wriggleit.com.au) or the Indoor play area at Greensborough sounds like a great place to meet.
There is also Rare Bears at 10 Bridge st Eltham (whom I have no association and am not promoting but suggesting) Entry prices for: 1-4 $6.95 and 5+ $7.95. two areas for kids under 3 of age.
So if not the 18th of April when? Open to all suggestions!

HI Rare Bears sounds good to I havent heard of that one. My kids always love new places to explore! The 24th is a day before Anzac day so how about the 28th of April. Its a Friday!
Hi everyone! I am an expectant mum and I have just moved to Heidelberg. This is my first baby (due Sept) and I don't know anybody my age who has or has had kids. Would be happy to catch up as I could use all the advice I can get and it would be good to have a bit of comparison with other people's experiences.
We're good Mondays after 10.30, Wednesday and Fridays. Mornings are better but DS sometimes sleeps and sometimes doesn't so let us know and if we can make it we'd love to.
I know the weather isn't great but perhaps if we rug up our litte ones and ourselves and meet at a park and let the kids run around then it's inexpensive and the kids have a ball. (depending on if it rains or not).
The mums can each bring a plate of food and everyone is happy.
Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
There seems to be a bit of conjecture on the meeting place um.. perhaps for the first one providing the weather is good we could meet at a park and then maybe as it gets closer to winter and a bit to cold for little people to be outside we might be able to go to a playcentre.
So the date for the first meet I propose is Friday 28th of April at around 1030. As for a park there are many but a nice one I know of is in Yallambie off Lower Plenty Rd. It has an undercover shelter where mums can sit near a small playground as well as a duck pond.
As previously posted I have suggested a couple of other parks, I hope that we can come to communal descision and get the kids playing together soon.
Hey girls! I'm from that area too. I would love to join in, but I thought I'd have to wait until bubs is born (August). But since Celeste is turning up (thanks Celeste!) I thought I'd bite the bullet and say "me too!!!"

Hi guys how bout what Tiggerbaby suggested at the park in Yallambie on the
28th at 10.30. This sounds good for me! So hopefully it does for everyone else. Hope to see you guys there! It would be a pleasure to have some mums to be come too! See what your in for!
That's good for me, I will be there! What do we bring?

I'm in!!
But, should we have plan b?? The weather is pretty unpredictable atm! maybe just the playground in g'borough s/c just in case of rain? Lets say, if it is raining at 10am it will be at there otherwise stick to the park?? Does anyone have a melways ref for the park, we havn't been in this area very long and I don't want to get lost!!
MissBrightside

Plan A is the 28th at the park in Yallambie at 10:30 Melway Ref 20 G9.
Plan B Greensborough Shopping Centre same day same time if raining!
Hands up if this is ok with everyone.
Does anyone think we should bring a plate or just bring some snacks and drinks for the kids? Im not fazed as my kids would prefer to play than eat!

Sounds good! I don't think we need to bring a plate, bit of a pain at a park anyway. But I am happy to if everyone else wants to!
Glad we have finally got this organised:D

Hi Everyone,
Looking forward to seeing everyone this Friday (28/04/2006). WE will be there with bells on.
Regards
Just wanted to say I'm going to try to be there. I may not be able to make it as my brother and SIL are flying in that morning from o/s. I'm going to meet them at the airport before mum and dad take them home. So if their plane is on time I'll be there. If not, I won't. I haven't seen my brother in 7 years, and never met my SIL, so I'm sure you'll all excuse me if I don't make it. Ta.
Jake and I would love to be there...Re the plate of food, it's for the mums to eat and enjoy...each mum knows what their child can and can't eat or will and won't eat so they should bring for them, but we can enjoy a little nibble while we chat.
I have someone popping in the morning, so if it's still 10.30 then we should be able to get there.
The weather looks good for tommorrow...I'm assuming Yallambie Park, at 10.30.
I will check back later for details.

Just wanted to let you guys know I can't make it tomorrow. My ante natal appt. at The Mercy had to be changed to tomorrow at 11.40am. Hopefully i can make it next time as i was really looking forward to it! Hope you all have a good time.....
Bugger! I just realised that it's today and not tomorrow and I can't make it! I am so disappointed. Sorry everyone.
Just wondering on a side note...is there a thread for first time mums? Sometimes I feel silly asking questions but I really have nobody else to talk to about pregnancy so it would be good to see how other first-timers are going?
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry but Jake and didn't make it this morning...My guest didn't leave till 10.45 and I had errands to run before being able to make it...
Hope to make it next time.
Perhaps for next time we could meet at a playcentre like Billy Lids which is in Hawthorn or Playdays in Doncaster East. These are the two that I know of and they are great...Kids can have a play and mums can have a coffee...

Hi Everyone,
Well to those who couldn't make it, we hope to see you next time. It was lovely to meet Sarah, Nicholas, Ben, Samantha and I'm sorry (preggy brain attack) Samantha's Mum. Look forward to meeting up with everyone again soon.
Hi all
I've just been reading all your threads about being in the Heidelberg (-ish) area and meeting up - unfortunately I read it a little late.
I'm in Viewbank (walking distance from the park you probably met at!) and wondered if you had plans to meet again, as I'd love to join in.
I'm a first time mum and my little girl (Sophie) has just turned 12 weeks old.
Cheers
Robs
